Speaking as a die hard who was too young to have ever seen them, this was never supposed to happen and it feels wrong.

almost all reunions leave a sour taste in my mouth, and this one just doesn't interest me at all. i never got to see them, but a big, slick festival appearance doesn't seem like the way i'd want to see them

Just bit the bullet and bought a $150 3-day pass in Chicago (all that's left).

could be good. but could be shit too Weren't they always that way though? Which is what made them good. I guess that the uncertainty in regards to the performance isn't like the old uncertainty. It isn't like "Could be amazing, could end in a riot without them ever taking the stage." It's more like "Could have some cool energy, could be totally bland and tasteless." The first kind of good/shit ultimatum is itself pretty awesome. The second is just... good/shit.

Saw them three times back in the day. Amazing. Saw them here in 1989 on the "Pleased to Meet Meet" tour, Paul jumped into the pit during "IOU" and started wailing on a guy who was being too rough. Then hopped back onstage with a "shows over good night fuckers": Feedback humming and Tommy bitching at Paul as he walked off stage.
Thirty seconds later came back out, apologized and did a solo "Treatment Bound" then took requests. He ignored all the call outs and busted into "What's Up Pussycat?" Those guys were transcendent. You have to see them if possible.

Speaking as a die hard who was too young to have ever seen them, this was never supposed to happen and it feels wrong. Speaking as a die hard, who is also a middle aged man who was lucky enough to see them six times, this was never supposed to happen and it feels very wrong.

they only played here once, shortly before they broke up. tommy and slim were drinking in the bar next door to the olympia all evening with fans and were in flying form come show time (midnight). all i can remember is how loud it was and how drunk they were. one of my fave bands ever

They are playing a festival in Atlanta in May. I was fortunate enough to see them six times, each time running the gambit from being awful to life changing. I'm not a fan of reunions at all and I really don't care for this one either. Having said that I do hope they do a Minneapolis home show and then never step on stage as the Replacements again.

They're coming to Midway Stadium in St. Paul in September. I saw my first show without parents at Midway Stadium back in the late 90s. I am so excited.
