Loved seeing THS in the UK a couple of weeks ago, I have followed the band since SS, I've seen them seven times and they just get better and better. But I must get some things off my chest... Am I the only one thinking that a band like THS should have a better website - one that's just a teeny weeny bit more 'fan friendly' - a news section, downloads etc (the old site was nearly like this, I thought it was going to be improved?) For a band that places a lot on a 'unified' scene I'd like to see a bit more effort in keeping us all updated/involved. A good example of this was the cancelled UK tour a couple of months ago. Now...we all know why it happened but that's only through unofficial sources, we've never had anything communicated officially or any comment directly from the band on the website - not a great way to treat die hard fans? What happened to the band staying in touch? I used to love the fact that Koob posted regularly on the messageboard - now, nothing. As the band gets more popular I hope they don't lose touch, if anything you need to work harder to communicate. Sorry to be negative, I feel better now Ive got that out, but I'd be interested if anybody else feels the same.

I can assure you -
A new site is in the works.
And it's quite fan friendly.

i know what you mean, it would be nice to have a proper website and more communication from the band. I heard something was going to be done about it but for some reason it never happened. But this forum is enough for me... I get all my Hold Steady news from the other people on here, I don't know how they find it so fast.

Uh...I am perfectly happy with this site. I was perfectly happy with the old site. Shit is gonna change. Koob is gonna be busier Soon the whole thing will be different. If we change the website to another website again, I wont be following. There is something negative to be said about getting too damn complicated. I have met the guys in this band many times. Because they dont answer all my e mails is not gonna make me like them less. But I know theres gonna be a time when they wont have the time to shoot the shit. But I NEVER got to talk to Keith or Mick about Catholicism or its effects on the songs they wrote.

I don't care about band websites, I don't use them often. I'd rather their energies went into the albums and the dollars into their pockets. give me a mailing list and an occasional update and we're aces.

I don't think there is all that much more you can do with a band website. I've just been looking at the website of another band that I like and there is a News section which is fine, but we tend to hear stuff via the forum anyway. There's photo's - which doesn't bother me; Video's - which I can see on YouTube; band member info - there's enough info (sort of) on Wiki. I agree that the website isn't up to much unlike the old BAGIA one that had the news/photo updates but TBH the tour dates, merch and this forum are enough for me

i love it here. i like the site and i see what you mean about photos and stuffs. it would be nice but you gotta find someone to do it and we don't really need it. i understand what you're saying but shit is gonna change and koob is gonna be busier. they're all gonna be busier. they are gonna be busier. we don't need a 'better' website. we've got the wiki, we've got here, we've got flickr, we've got youtube. stop bitching. enjoy what we've got.
what we've got is goooooooooooood damnit!
