Not my kids, but my nephews:
I have two nephews, 5 and 10. TWO years ago, when the were 3 and 8, we told them that the people going into the church across the street on Christmas Eve were zombies. I know, so wrong. We had a long conversation about it and watched all of the zombies arriving.
Two years later -- my two nephews, my husband, and I are having a RARE quiet moment with these boys. We are all snuggled on the couch and the 5 year old has turned off the lights, no talk of the church across the street.
I hear the church bells across the street, and say -- shhh! Isn't it beautiful? And the 5 year old says, "Zombies."
We are going to hell, for certain.

I had 3 kids and 3 nieces sleeping here last night. Four of them are still sleeping so it's shockingly quiet here. Oh wait, they just got up.

Ever see a child cry out of pure joy as a sibling opened his present to her?

I don't post pics of my kids, it's a thing, sorry, but there was much joy in kidland as the older got the Playmobil pyramid (not available here till next year) and the younger got the nintendo ds she craved so much I swear she was vibrating while she searched for a likely sized box. (I am sneakier than that - Santa got the pokemon edition, different shaped box)
My older girl was made of awesome - before they came downstairs the girls saw the stuffed toys on the top of their stockings, and my younger one started to cry - the one she got was the one on her list, but since she made her list she's become deer obsessed - which was what the older was getting. The older (who really wanted the deer) generously switched, and is making the best of her chipmunk. I told her there would be a reward down the road, applied without warning, for her unselfish and unasked for trade.
