So sorry if the book thread is already cranking, but I did check and couldn't see anything.
So, I have lost my SHIT over "Vodka" by Boris Starling. Didn't like his other ones at all.
Also digging Karin Slaughter and John Steinbeck. Unlikely bedfellows but amusing me all the same.
Last but not least, can't wait for the new Paullina - ladies, am I right?

Just finished reading The Spiritual Journey of Alejandro Jodorowsky recently. Fantastic. Need to find something new to pick up soon.

Books I really enjoyed in 2008 included The Executioner's Song by Norman Mailer, The World According to Garp and Until I Find You by John Irving and just about anything by Richard Brautigan.
Next up is East of Eden by John Steinbeck and Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky. They were both birthday presents. It's definitely curl-up-with-a-book weather.

Oh, and I know one of those rectangles under the tree for me is The Wordy Shipmates by Sarah Vowell. I dropped so many hints, I did everything but buy and wrap it myself. I'm really looking forward to reading that one.
