Note: NME gave SP 9/10. A score which only around 15 albums got this year.

23. Scarlett Johansson?? Really? I love the production on it, but the vocals are pretty rough.

MGMT are way too overrated, and Glasvegas have too much hype. Beck's album is a slow burner and is underrated. Mystery Jets album is boring after about 5 listens.

The singles off the album are amazing; Kids, Time To Pretend, Weekend Wars, but the rest seem like filler. NME completly bum up to Glasvegas and MGMT and think that neither band can put a foot wrong.

a shocking omission - from their review I expected it would be in their top 10 - but the NME hasn't been anything remotely resembling a reliable musical bible or worth reading since about 1992, these days it is just a glossy "Hello" magazine for clueless wannabe Indie student knobheads from suburban towns who wear skinny jeans ,sport bad haircuts and worse acne.

the only good thing about the NME these days is you can pick it up in a shop, look in the A-Z index of featured bands and read about the bands you want, rather than purchase it and have to wade through page after page of them championing shite bands, yet another post-court appearance interview with talentless smackhead Pete Docherty, some glossy photos of the Kings of Leon showing off their bulging crotches, and some young hacks masturbating over the latest side project of The Strokes' drummer's friend's girlfriend's cousin's band.

I stopped my subscription last week for the reason that; Oh noes! Glasvegas/Killers/MGMT/Oasis havn't had a cover in the last 2 weeks! Let's give them one. Also, new music is shit. I have found my "bed of music" and I now choose to lie in it. I will only buy NME if there is a good feature on the front. I must say though, Krissi Murrison (sp) did once give Johnny Borrell(Razorlight) a total roasting, it was my favourite piece of journalism, yet now it is a shitty how to guide for indie-kids, or whatever the above posters said. The only magazine I get now is Empire - it's always a good read, no matter what's on the cover.
