1. homemade pizza. It had hot dogs on it. Feel free to judge me. 2. eating dinner whilst watching Masterchef. It's weirdly enjoyable to watch people make fancy food whilst I eat cheap trash. 3. coming up with costuming ideas for the play I'm directing in the summer. We're getting together plans now so our costume gal can sketch things and start buying fabric. 4. hot drinks. 5. kindness - specifically from you, and you. Thank you <3

Yay for theatre indeed I'm so excited to be directing A Midsummer Night's Dream! I've wanted to do it for years. Well, REALLY, if I'm honest I'd love to play Titania. However, no one else was willing to direct it, so I'm biting the bullet. And no, I won't be casting myself.

At 5'1" with dark hair, there was nothing but Hermia for me in three productions. Stupid, specific Shakespeare.

Corsets would have been much less traumatizing.

Our theatre department was either going to do this, or Lysistrata, so we took it to a vote, and because the cast is so huge, Lysistrata won out. But then I didnt get a part.

yay theatre!!!
I'm in a play right now, we're about to start tech and it's going to be long. We open for previews in less than a week! I'm kinda freaking out, but our director is so so amazing and lovely so I feel confident. It's called "Red Herring" The playwright is coming to see our production cause he lives in Philly. aweiawhruahaudhogkljgs
We are actually thinking of doing A Midsummer Night's Dream next year! I would love to play Helena. If we don't do Midsummer, we're doing The Farnsworth Invention and while I'm sure it's an alright show... there are TWO women in it and I've heard they are written very poorly, so I would rather not.
My brother did Lysistrata this summer. That was... awkward to see with my parents. there were some skintight fleshcolored body suits involved. I'm just not a fan of the show and after that production I don't think I can ever see it again...
ANYWAY, 5 Favorite Things: 1. theatre, always <3 2. being busy. 3. making friends. 4. green peppers. 5. buffy the vampire slayer dvds.

esbee - pfft. If my perfect Hermia is tall with blonde hair, I'll just fiddle with the text! I have no compunction about that. The costume for the fairy court should be fun. My buzzwords were "medieval jumble sale", "carnival" and "magpie". I want the human court to be very proper in a late medieval way (as that is our setting, given that we're strictly speaking a medieval theatre group), and the fairy court to look like it's assembled its clothing in a rag-tag way. So, cross-dressing, random buttons, feathers, fun times.

I finished my marking - yay! Reading and commenting on 82,000 words is quite time consuming. I feel sorry for my supervisors, who will soon have to read a similar amount, but all written by one person, aka ME!
I awarded 6 firsts in this round of marking. As I'm quite a strict marker, that was pretty good!
I have a pot of daffodils on my windowsill.
I am going to go make a cup of tea when I finish this list.
New Heroes on Monday!

My group and i are working on a show based on three short stories by nikolai gogol. we have an awesome playwright and a great musician working with us which is a lot of fun. we are a group of designers so our shows tend to be really crazy design heavy sometimes to a detriment as far as the story goes...but i think we have a really solid script on our hands. enough theater nerding for right now. ok so my top 5. 1. my fiancee 2. designing for a show 3. vegas tomorrow 4. kid robot vinyl toys 5. candy
