I have two for MHOW original date (10th) and I'm bringing my stepdad-he's never seen them before. I got one ticket for 6/9. I wish I had more money so I could share. I also wish that there would be some way that we could all just be at the same show...

I bought one for the 9th too. I wanna make a week of this.
Hopefully my string of bad luck at NYC shows changes here.

Hi everybody(!) Long time no see, ha what the hell is going on 'round here? Ideally, I'd like to be at the show(s) with the most Scene presence. Miss y'all and just want to spread some confetti love like old times. At the moment, I have tickets for none of these shows, nor do I know which ones I'll be able to go to. Hypothetically, I guess any weekday this summer my work'll get done@5, so I could hop on the train and get there 7:30-8ish in time for whatever show/night. Should we role-call each night? I'm guessing most people aren't going to all 4 shows if they're gonna play the same material, but then again maybe there's a slim chance they could play completely different sets for 4 straight nights? I agree with everybody re:ticketing too. Man there are such shitty systems out there. Maybe the venue will buy back the price-gouged tickets like they did in MKE for Eddie Vedder.--Mike, feeling only half-lame that he bailed on tonight's show b/c it's a dry venue where people can order espressos while the band plays.

My two yen...
If they were going to have 4 shows in the nyc area, they should've allowed folks on this board the chance to purchase first. After all, we *are* the most loyal, and (I like to think), part of the reason for their success (I brought a 'newbie' to the Calvin show last night and he was blown away).
For the other three shows, I hope they bring new fans as THS needs to be heard by virgin ears far and wide.
Once again, due to work, I lost a chance to purchase tickets for any of these shows. What kills me is that I'm actually going to be in NYC the 8th-10th on business so I've got the hotel room already paid for by my company.
So I'll throw two options out there...
A. If someone's got an extra and needs a place to crash post show, I'll buy your extra and offer space in my room (I'll try to snag a cot or two-bed scenario).
B. If someone's got an extra and needs refreshments pre/during/post show, I'll buy that extra and make sure you're kept hydrated. ;-)
I'd love to get two tickets as I'll be in town with a colleague and would like to bring her along.
If no takers, no worries...enJOY the shows folks and Stay Positive.

Well I am glad I get to see one of these shows... Heidi.. I may have to take you up on your offer of a place to sleep though... I kinda want to party and not have to worry about catching a train.
I don't mind sleeping on floors either.. so if the couch is already taken... i will bring my own pillow and blanket.

Hey Everyone, I spaced out on Friday and missed out on NYC tickets too! I'm understand it's a little early for this but I'll put my hat in the ring for a ticket for any of the NYC dates. mcmill@fas.harvard.edu.

That's good news.
Anyone interested in keeping the ball rolling and writing to the NY Attorney General, the Office of the Attorney General web site says to send letters to:
Office of the Attorney General The Capitol Albany, NY 12224-0341
which seems like an address I could've guessed but whatever.

I am probably going to write. Even though I lucked out because someone was looking out for me (I knew in advance that I wasn't going to be able to purchase tickets for these shows) I still find it insane that these shows are selling out within one minute, and people at the box office cannot even get tickets. Plus the multiple tickets on TicketsNow and StubHub that are going for over a 300% mark up of the actual ticket price. I don't care if nothing ever gets done with my letter, but since the federal government is now looking into them, it may be better to actually send a letter to the Better Business Bureau or Federal Trade Commission because the more stories of questionable ticket sales, from different bands and fans, the more credible their case against Ticketmaster.

also if the hold steady were clever kids they would have an official fan club with ticket presales start up before their now fairly large die hard fan base gets pissed.

You are correct on that fact... we should get presales... we did with the DBT tour.. why not now.
We have Brendan, Kim and Emily going to about 7 shows this tour...
If I was able to, I would have bought tickets for all of the NYC shows but I am only going to 1.
(and a Philly Show that WE DESPERATELY NEED A HEADLINING PHILLY SHOW winkwinknudgenudge coughwehaven'thadaheadliningphillyshowsincethefirsttimeisawthemtherein2007cough..dual headliners with DBT does not count, they did not play LAST in Philly )
I still recommend The Hold Steady whenever I can, I have some converts (I am a convert myself). I love going to the shows (I've seen more than the guy who converted me)... I love seeing this band live.
We have people on this board that have spent months putting together the awesome Website, and the awesome boards... This is the fan base that should be rewarded... its not like we are going to completely sell out a show within ourselves... but it would be nice to give us a chance to get together and rock together.

Reposting this:
I may have extras for Williamsburg 6/10. I can offer at face or trade for Bowery.
I'll know how many extra for sale I will have in a few weeks after I firm up how many I'll need.
I would prefer trading some for Bowery (either date) if anyone is interested. That I can do right away. Let me know. PM me or email thurman@optonline.net
Thanks

Hey guys...long time lurker here. And wow...what the hell happened with these tickets? I know how tight knit you guys are and I realize that will probably figure into how you guys dispense of extra tickets. But I'd like to make my interest for any extras known. I guess private message me if you want to talk prices. And if you stick pretty close to market value, I'm sure I can sweeten the deal with a bottle of hooch or a few beers at the show or something.
I'll take Williamsburg or Bowery.

And anyone else who needs tickets...if you're not having any luck now, I recommend checking for updates in both the NYC and North Jersey sections of craigslist. I'm sure you're going to find your share of mark-uppers. But as the show gets closer, you'll find more and more people just wanting to unload the tickets with little/no-loss instead of trying to gain 5x profit. I did this for the show last Monday. I may have payed 5 bucks over. So I'm just throwing that out there.
