A perfect venue as the new album is pretty comical.

Musical guests/performances never work as well on that show as anyone would like. I remember being incredibly excited for the White Stripes when they played and they sucked. Though that might just be because Jack seems to think that television appearances are the best places to try out weird shit.

A perfect venue as the new album is pretty comical. Good one. As a Springsteen fanatic I admit it pains me that everything he does can't be awesome and everyone can't just think it is awesome, but to continue with this theme it can also get pretty comical once he starts babblin' on about something. I don't even know if musical guests get interviewed on there, but it could be funny or it could just make you cringe. I'll still find the positive in it; I can't help myself.

As usual, Ben nails it. www.tom-waits.tv/Daily_Show_2006.htmlEdit: The link actually works now.

Loved the interview, but wished he would have played a different song. We'll call it even.

I was under the impression that Jon wanted to fuck Bruce.

I didn't. I thought he wanted to be his golden retriever. Big brown eyes. Panting excitement. Slipper fetching. Unconditional love.
That kind of thing.

I think Bruce looked uncomfortable. I get the dog analogy only because i believe a bone was involved.

and jon stewart rules. i thought the interview was perfect and honest and flattering. i think stewart nailed it...what bruce does to us, what music does to us gives us the courage to do those things that just might break us and gives us hope that maybe, it'll be our perfect set

I enjoyed myself. Not a great show- the band ran through new and old songs and they didn't keep any momentum going for long. Mary's Place was a notable set-killer. I'm not a fan of the new album, so that didn't help things. It sounds like Bruce made some changes for the 2nd rehearsal (e.g. opening with Badlands) that helped the flow of things. Jay Weinberg played drums on 5 songs and brought a lot of energy- he made the night. He's 18, which is amazing to me. Also a sloppy version of Mustang Sally was fun. It's hard to complain about seeing Bruce and the band in Asbury Park in a place about the size of a high school gym.

Be fair - It was a very good performance.
Harmonica beats whistling.
Maybe solo beats E-Street Band.
