I really hate it when there's a piano in the room, and I go over to play it and it hits me that the only thing I can remember how to play is "Super Mario Theme".
I was wondering if anyone worked out any Hold Steady songs on piano, and could just post the basic chords, and I can prob work out the rest.
I just really want to be able to play 1 THS song on piano *cough* Don't let me explode *cough*

Haha, the intro chords sound so noice.
It's just that in drama there's a piano in the room where we practise, and we always mess around on the piano, and Mario Theme is a bit embarassing now...
Certain Songs is pretty much the top piano song on my learn to play list, but that's too hard to explain

Yeah, Don't Let Me Explode and Certain Songs are probably the easiest songs to translate from guitar to piano.
First Night is basically Em, C, G, D for the verses and choruses, and then D, Em, C for the "BAGIA" refrain. That's just off the top of my head, I think there's more to it than that, and he throws in alot of little variations, so it wont sound completely identical, but that should help you get started.

Yay! I can now play Don't Let Me Explode....well all the way up to the rock out bit, the chord changed are a bit faster and theres a couple more chords.
Piano is much harder than guitar.

Also, nothing beats belting out Em C D from the First Night refrain.

This makes me hope that I can get into the secret piano room at the library soon. Even more so, it makes me hope that I can soon play a song on piano that isn't about hamsters or chopsticks.
