Anyone else think it's odd that Fallon is the headliner? I'm sure many of us here are biased but even in terms of longevity, seniority, output, natural predilection for storytelling, etc. it seems Finn would be the natural choice, especially on a tour that's being billed as "just the two of us, just our songs and stories."

Brian's albums peaked at 9&13 on Billboard's chart history. Craig's were 89&63.
Picking out who's better is Solomon's choice in my book. I would expect relatively equal time.

I wasn't aware of the album statistics but that makes more sense; thanks for the info. As for expecting relatively equal time, all signs point to Finn as an opener: he's billed as a "special guest" and his photo takes up 1/3 of the poster space that Fallon's does. I'm gonna go with Finn getting a shorter opening set otherwise it'd be advertised as more of a "co-headlining" thing. Some collaborations might be cool, like THS & DBT on the Rock & Roll Means Well tour. Solomon's choice as to who's better? Finn is a versatile, prolific storyteller with a unique stage presence, like a literary giant set to music. Fallon built a career by piggybacking his Springsteen fandom, then left the Gaslight Anthem to release solo albums that sound exactly like the Gaslight Anthem. We've obviously got differing opinions and that's cool, but if there were a scientific method for making such a decision, I'm betting on Finn. Then again we're on a THS message board so bias may be playing a part.

Seats are tiny and rows are crowded. Good sound for a show like this. Going to THS in July and TGA in August. Great summer music.
