Has anyone heard about any in-store, meet-and-greets or other gatherings of the Unified Scene in Chicago this weekend? Anything going on besides the shows?

Same. I'll be in-town all weekend for the shows, so I'll be on the lookout for some kind of new experience with it all!

Punch House is a cocktail bar that is basically in the basement of Thalia Hall. I'm not sure what, if anything, is near Empty Bottle.

I'm so excited for these shows that I finally joined the boards to chime in. Hope to meet some great scenesters this week! It should be easy to find decent bars and restuarants around the venues, but I've got a couple recommendations for everybody, if you're out and about exploring other parts of the city. - Duck Duck Goat - get on Open Table now and try for a reservation; it's one of our best new restuarants and the weekend dim sum shouldn't be missed.
- Tanoshii - for sushi lovers. Two locations on the west and north sides, worth the trip. "Sushi Mike" is a local legend in the making.
- Angelina - little Italian joint a couple blocks from Wrigley perfect for a nice dinner.
You can also always go to River North, where you can't throw a stone without hitting a decent place. Or, to hell with all that, we can get plastered on Old Style tallboys.
