Reading the song descriptions got me stoked. I'm really excited for this album cycle, I feel like it's already reminding me why Craig is my favorite writer.

So, what are the four non-album tracks on the EP?

The EP is out! Tracks (not on the record are):
Three Drinks They Know Where I Live Extras Dennis & Billy
Yay!
Edit: Now that I'm listening, "They Know Where I Live" is "Dudes from St. Paul."

I'm only two songs in but the EP's brilliant and I love this man. CHFE was massively important to me, coming along at a time where I really needed it (baaaad breakup). The track descriptions have me... tickled. "Sarah, Calling from a Hotel" sounds like one of Craig's patented emotional storms, a la "Respective Coasts".
Craig's still on that whole echo-vocal effect thing. Odd turn, but it's working moreso here than on Teeth Dreams.

All I did was type in Craig Finn in to Amazon UK and it was the 2nd in the list of results. No cover picture but I was able to preorder for September 11th release

I'm enjoying how different these sound to THE and CHFE. Sound kinda War On Drugsy. Dennis and Billy is fantastic, lyrically.

By the way, is the pledge music thing like kickstarter, where if they don't raise the full goal, you don't get the goods? If so, shame on you Amazonians.

In fact, this Pledge Music "campaign" of Craig's doesn't have a (published/publicized) monetary goal, it's just a site to pre-order the new record plus other cool stuff from.

I'm digging the EP. I could listen to Extras all day. Dennis & Billy definitely has a great "Nebraska" vibe to it.

The album cover shot by former Lifter Puller drummer (and now highly regarded L.A.-based photographer) Dan Monick. Album artwork and layout by Nick Holloman.

Here's the cover. Photo was shot by Dan Monick (who was in Lifter Puller). Have 2 other photos from Monick in the package, as well as one from Rich Tarbell. Edit* Looks like Rich and I have the same timing...

Have listened trhough Newmyer's Roof twice now. Really, really good. I love CHFE as well, but this allready feels a lot more well composed, thick and fulfilled. Can't wait for the album!
And that cover art is great.

I was surprised to hear the vocal effects, but I agree with the point someone made earlier - works a lot better here than on Teeth Dreams (not that TD effects were bad, this just worked better).

to those who have heard the whole record -- is fear a running theme on it? 4/5 songs on the EP at least mention it, usually at critical moments. wondering if that's going to a big lyrical theme on the album.

My take is that fear is a major theme, but ultimately overcoming fear and getting on with life. The lyric "and we all went back to work" struck me on this particular point. I think the production adds to this very theme very effectively. And I was never here
