Sweet. I'm actually in NYC that night. How does one get out to Westbury?

Thanks for the heads up! Still passes available.
The venue is a very new place, and a great space as I've heard.
The Long Island Railroad runs to Westbury, and the venue is about a four block walk north of the station. It's only about 50 minutes out of Penn Station. There are a few good bars and restaurants right on Post Road between the station and the venue.
This could be a classic gig, free, free booze, and a different type of venue for the band. and it's one week away!
Very psyched!!

I can vouch for the fact that this venue rules. Saw Cheap Trick, Willie Nelson, and many others there as a kid. Great sound, intimate, and a unique experience. Do they still have the revolving stage?
Enjoy all!

Do they still have the revolving stage? I do not think this is the same place. Revolving stage is at the NYCB Theater at Westbury (formerly the Westbury Music Fair). Wednesday's show is at The Space at Westbury. More traditional set-up, GA floor with loge and balcony.

That's right, Thurman. Westbury Music Fair is cool too, and very intimate, but has seats, so NO!!
The Space is similar to the Paramount in Huntington, LI that THS and DBT played in June. An old theater repurposed as a multi-use venue, open floor with seating in the rear and on the sides.
So far I've got about 16 people going, the attraction of a free show (more probably free booze) is lucrative.
Looking at some meetup spots for the pregame, will post some later.

One thing I noticed on the guest list reservation form:
Thank you for your RSVP! This is a 21+ show and photo IDs will be checked. RSVP does not guarantee entrance; admission will be on a first-come, first-served basis and capped at venue capacity. This invite is non-transferable. There are no physical tickets for the show; your name will be on a list when you arrive.
I would imagine once they reach a certain number of RSVP's they would stop taking names. However, probably a good idea to get there early, in case. Two hours of free booze could attract a lot of people who don't even know what a guitar looks like.
As far as a pregame venue, I'll be at the Friar's Tavern, 231 Post Avenue, just south of the venue. Looks like a fairly divey place with a good local crowd. Anyone with an unused +1 on their pass could give some drunk a Christmas present!!

Hi folks, I'm new on the boards here but I've met a couple of you at this year's shows in New Haven and Huntington. I'm super excited for this tomorrow! I'll be taking the train out from the city. I'm supposed to be going with a friend of mine, but he's a bit flaky, so who knows if he'll show -- in any case it'd be great to have some people to meet up with. Shoot me a PM or something.
Also, what time are people planning to arrive at the venue? I'd second giantladder's recommendation to get there early -- I went to a show like this once (free with RSVP, and there was no limit on the number of RSVPs) at the Music Hall of Williamsburg and people were lining up two hours before the doors opened. Once it opened they just filled the place up to capacity and closed the doors. MHoW is smaller and in the city, and it was for a better known band, but still, wouldn't want to go all the way out there and then not get in.

Erobertc - Hey! Going to be at the Friar's Tavern, 231 Post, preshow.
Surprising, a free show, open bar, and not a whole lot of interest. What gives?

Ridiculous train delays - just got off at Westbury. Heading straight to the place.

Haven't been around these parts in a while, but just wanted to drop by and say it was a pleasure to say hi to JWD after many years. Last spotted him disappearing into the pit during Stay Posi. Very strange show all around, but loved seeing the boys and my buds in Low Cut Connie (check em out if you haven't already). God bless Chrysler!
