Last night's show in Santa Fe killed it--awesome crowd and energy, but no real setlist surprises. One cool thing that happened though was that during "Stay Positive" a dude hopped up on stage and rapped the "when the chaperone crowned us..." Verse. The band definitely knew him, but there was never any intro or anything.
Anyone have thoughts on who this would have been?

He was manning the merch booth in Phoenix... Surprised and pleased me when he got up on stage and belted out some lyrics! Fucking loved that!

Fucking loved that! Yeah, Josh kinda rules. The one thing about all the folks who make the THS machine roll on the road, and this has been true since the early days, they always have great, talented and interesting people working with and for them.

Plus he's a fucking Sawx fan, so his stock gets upped a few more notches in my book.

talked to him more than a few times during the northwest shows and asked how he got the Stay Posi gig - he said that he moonlighted on the verse once a few years ago, and then when he came on for this tour Craig said something like, "So you still coming up for Stay Positive?"
"Do you mean tonight?"
"Uh, yeah, or every night if you want"
Such a fun story and a nice guy, and he killed it on all three shows I saw!

...Craig said something like, "So you still coming up for Stay Positive?" "Do you mean tonight?" "Uh, yeah, or every night if you want" That's just so fantastically Midwestern.

One other anecdote I remembered - it's hit or miss whether he gets a set list before a show starts, so more than once he's heard the beginning riff to Stay Posi and had to run to the stage from the merch table - which depending on the venue, of course, can be quite an adventure
