Don't think there's a thread for this but if so I'm sorry. THS just announced a one off final show at Brooklyn Night Bazaar.
Couldn't believe this as today I was joking around with my friends "Imagine if Hold Steady were playing next month, that would just make my December as I'd be seeing all of my top 4 favourite bands in one month." The only time I've felt so happier was last night when I received an email from the Brooklyn Bowl informing me that they will allow me in to Lucero next month even though I'm far under 21 as a birthday treat. Will also be seeing Gaslight Anthem and Black Keys as well ;D.
Anyhoo back to THS, I don't know much abotu the venue but will anyone else here be going?

I know nothing about the venue which seems to be a warehouse. Brooklyn Night Bazaar is a temporary thing that's been held at other locations previously. Maybe someone else knows the deal with that.
I do know that Titus Andronicus got added to the show

I'm planning on going to this but coming from out of NYC (Delaware) if anyone finds out what time they are actually going to go on can you post it here? I know it says it starts at 5:00 PM and ends at 1:00 AM but I can't imagine they would go on right at 5. Trying to take the train so any info would help.
Thanks!

Just got back from the show... WILD! First let me say that the event itself was phenomenal. The organizers did a great job attracting amazing local food and art vendors from around Brooklyn and NYC, and somehow made the warehouse feel like a room with character.
THS came on around 11:10 and blew the doors off the place. This was my 7th Hold Steady show, and it was by far the rowdiest up front of the ones I've been to (including last year's insane Santa Barbara set). There was some legitimate moshing and plenty of pogo'ing throughout the night - to the point where several groups around me actually moved backwards to get out of the madness. As expected, the band was full of energy (it IS their backyard, after all), and the crowd and Craig fed off of one another throughout the set. Highlights included a mid-set Hoodrat and an ultra-poignant Lord, I'm Discouraged. Till next year...

Anyone know the Christmas song they covered last night?
Patrick from TA came out to help on Stay Positive for the closer. Craig was feeding off his energy. Super awesome

Christmas Must Be Tonight Robbie Robertson
Great rock show and as others have mentioned, they did a nice job with the venue and the event.

This was my eighth show, and I thought it was great. The band sounded awesome and there was great energy all around. This was the first show without Franz that I've seen that made me think "they're back, and better than ever". I was blown away by Tad all night, who seemed to steal the show even more so than usual.

This was my first Hold Steady show, and it was great to see Craig's "moves" in person at last having seen so many videos and hearing so many stories.
I was worried that due to the lack of Franz it'd be mainly a set of Heaven is Whenever. This was not the case. Lord, I'm Discouraged was just as awesome without the keys, and even with Stuck Between Stations it was barely noticeable that anything was missing from the arrangement.
Can anyone recall the full setlist?

Patrick from TA came out to help on Stay Positive for the closer. Craig was feeding off his energy. Super awesome I am very jealous of all of you. I love the Hold Steady, and I love Titus Andronicus almost as much as I love the Hold Steady. Here's a great video of THS playing 'Stay Positive' with Patrick Stickles (TA songwriter) from November (I think) in New York. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhPnQZ3WhccWhat a crazy motherfucker. That was from the Braddock, PA show in November!

Brooklyn didn't even get a Killer Parties closer? I guess Ybor City's the only place you can count on it now.

Brooklyn was a great show, although the level of moshing is not necessary at a THS show. That's all I have to say about that. Still it was fun and they sounded great.
Other highlights included Craig flubbing a few lyrics and laughing it off, Galen taking out his wallet at the end of stay positive and throwing money down front, and Craig singing "...the chaperone said...you will always be a loser (3x)"
Patrick Stickles on Stay Positive was also awesome and drew appreciative laughter on stage.

I posted the setlist - it's definitely correct. I entered it into my phone under extreme duress; while standing in the first row behind the mosh pit while being periodically shoved from behind. The pit was, frankly, out of control and out of proportion for the band. If you have that much aggression, you should be at hardcore shows. Hell, even Titus Andronicus should have had an angrier mob.
They ended their Terminal 5 show with Killer Parties, and have played three more shows in NYC since then - Beekman Beer Garden (ended with Resurrection), Intrepid (Stay Positive), so maybe they are just trying to change it up, or maybe they thought Stay Positive would be best for Patrick's guest spot.
Whatever the reason, it was a killer show. As a guitar geek, I noticed that Tad was playing an ES-335 ish hollowbody rather than his usual Les Pauls, probably because the LPs tour better.

I remember that the Harrisburg show is a closed affair from my experience, and no offense intended. I remember being AMAZED that they were coming to ABC back in 200...something, i think 8 or 9. But that's a rant for another time.
Didn't the Chicago metro show end (the one from the live cd) end one night with "Killer Parties"?
