THS opening for Death Cab's October northwest shows. Not sure how I feel about that. Good exposure, I suppose, but I hate seeing my favorite bands in short opener slots.
Do like how the official website describes the shows, though: with special guests Death Cab For Cutie...

Hope they play a show in Seattle by themselves after the Death Cab date in Vancouver.

Fully loaded, looking like around $50 to beat up on emo kids on the general admission floor. Not looking positive; think I'd rather travel for a headlining show. Let's hope for NW spin-offs from the Death Cab openers.

The Neptune is a lovely old movie house from the twenties. it has an upstairs balcony and two-level ground floor with a bar at the back. on either side of the area immediately in front of the stage are these striking stained glass panels with scenes devoted to the Neptune/Poseidon theme, making it feel like some kind of pagan shrine... it's only recently been renovated and converted for use as a performance space, a brilliant idea that seems long overdue. i attended the inaugural show (Okkervil River+Titus Andronicus) a couple months ago- it's been my new favorite venue ever since.

stgpresents.org/neptune/It looks pretty awesome, very similar to another old venue that used to be on the north end of The Ave. Can't recall the name of it now... Another couple things. First, it appears this is a Heineken-sponsored event according to the Neptune's website. Second, has anyone ordered tickets? The cheapest shipping option seems to be $10 Priority Mail. If they are available at a box office or something I would rather buy them that way.

right, the show is part of the City Arts Fest sponsored by Heineken ( www.cityartsfest.com/). there's a three day pass/wristband option for around $80 if you want to maximize your live music that weekend. as for individual tickets, you can save yourself some money buying them from the Paramount's box office downtown. i think that's what i'll end up doing.

Thanks for the info. Followed your link and saw that Grand Archives is opening up which is pretty awesome, one of my other favorite bands.
