Jury is still out here but that I've hardly listened to it tells you something. Right now I'll say I like it because it's R.E.M.

It's okay. It's a lot better when I accept that things are never going to be what it once was anyway. I'm enjoying the Decemberists a lot more. It was the REM sound that kind of got me into that one.
I really like Walk It Back

my favorites right now are "blue", "all the best", and "that someone is you" the rock songs sound a little more natural than last time around, and i'm really into the layered, spacey stuff they have going on in the background. the decemberists record is really cool too. peter buck plays more...peter buck-like on it haha
i wish they were touring for this. i wanna hear these songs live.

i was bored at work today so i figured out an order for my favorite REM records i dont dislike any of them completely, but some are definitely less good than others
automatic for the people new adventures in hi fi fables of the reconstruction up lifes rich pageant murmur chronic town document accelerate reckoning out of time green reveal monster around the sun
right now the new one's somewhere near the middle

see, i'd think you'd skew towards the major label records if you were born 87. hearing the singles on the radio and stuff as a kid. automatic came out when i was in middle school and just really discovering music. it was the first album i ever really connected with emotionally, so it's always gonna be my #1. i spent my teens listening to mostly the major label records, so i'm more attached to them than the IRS years. i got into the older records later, and though i love them all, there's at least one i'd cut from each (except LRP)
theoretically, i should like monster more, but i dont think its aged very well. sounds pretty forced. i think new adventures is a much better rock-focused record. and it benefits from the on-tour-recording

doctoracula - compiling that list seems impossible.
I put collapse into now down for over a week and I like it a lot more now. Expectations or whatever now I'm really enjoying it although it would be in the bottom half of the list for me.

that list probably changes every 3 months or so. but for now that's it. the top 3 will probably always stay the same.
