a rival music website has been describing Best Coast as 'stoney and adorable'... 'cause quoting Craig Finn is more fun then writing 'chillwave' i guess

Best Coast aren't chillwave, bro... They sound like they're more on the overly simplistic trying really hard to be lo-fi surf rock end, than the synth heavy sampling chillwave end. Whatever they are, they are fucking awful.

At a shore restaurant weekend before last, the specialty cocktails on the menu included a "10 Cane Painkiller."
Some nights the painkillers make the pain even worse.

I went to a restaurant in Rapid City, SD and one of the breakfast meals was called "The Hold Steady"

I don't know, but I think the most random is Rod Stewart touring all over the place with Stevie Nix this summer. This seemed like that whole weird thing with the horses.

In Dennis Lehane's latest book Moonlight Mile, the main character's wife changes into one of his T-shirts "a white one from The Hold Steady's Stay Positive tour". (Top of Page 57 for those at their local library right now)

The priest on this morning's Mass for Shut-Ins looked an awful lot like Craig Finn.

There's a chip shop called 'Chips Ahoy!' in Cornwall. Pretty sure I've mentioned that before.

I was buying takeaway for the family at my local Fish & Chip shop tonight.
The lady behind the counter (who has worked there for so many years, and is at least in her late-seventies) throws chips into the fryer and shouts "Chips ahoy"!
I crack up.
My daughter shakes her head in disapproval.
Little things......

This isn't a Hold Steady reference, the book was written in 1986, but it made me smile anyway, "I wondered every minute if my father was ever coming back. Saint Barbara became a Christian while her father was away; she became a hermit and lived in a bathhouse. When her father came back he almost killed her for becoming a Christian, but then he was struck by lightening and died with a sizzled smile on his face." (Patty Dann, Mermaids).

Watching Elf on the Shelf (or something) and yes, they just sang, "there is so much joy."
(I miss that guy too.)

First our beloved Ole Gunnar Solskjær go off to Cardiff, then this thing in Swansea.
That's it, I'm moving to Wales.
