Whoa, that Trev Gibb cover is pretty brilliant! I think we need a thread on the best cover versions of all time...

Stop reminding me that I won't be receiving my next 9 issues Paste magazine I find the list itself to be pretty weak, but bravo boys. I know not everyone here likes Frank Turner, but I think his "Thunder Road" beats quite a few of these. www.youtube.com/watch?v=805kmeqmH3I

YES! They deserve that spot.
The first time I heard that cover I was blown away. I had to put it on repeat.

Agree so much with the #1 spot but I have to back bigrob and tlon up on the Frank shout out as it is brilliant. Also, you have to check out Bat for Lashes version of "I'm on Fire", which I think I would have put at a very well deserved number 2 and certainly higher than #7.

I wonder how many people realize that THS' cover of Atlantic City is based more on the version by The Band (v 2.0 without Richard or Robbie) from the 1993 album "Jericho" than Bruces original version? If anyone is not familiar with that version, please do yourself a favor and check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0eZwpHtcK4

i missed a local Springsteen tribute night last week, but apparently it wasn't very good
the first time i heard Atlantic City was an acoustic singalong in some punk squat... that was pretty awesome

How is Manfred Mann's cover of "Blinded By The Light" not even mentioned on this list. Too obvious? Forgot that Springsteen wrote it?

Forgot that Springsteen wrote it? because MM's cover of that song sucks. i respect that they did something different and made it their own, i personlly just don't care for it. i love frank turner, but i don't care much for his 'thunder road.' only heard it once though, maybe i should re-visit it. guana batz did a fantastic rockabilly version of 'i'm on fire.' anyone else ever heard it?
