Best Hold Steady show ever? What great energy from the crowd. Craig was really, really, REALLY into it tonight. Kind of awesome for me to see what was basically the least-awesome Hold Steady concert I've ever seen the night before seeing the best Hold Steady concert I've ever seen. One more show tonight in Culver City, and my total is up to 12!

Man, that show was off the fucking hook. Balls to the wall fantastic.
And I waited a bit for the guys after the show, and they were all really really really happy with the show and the crowd last night. Craig had the biggest smile, which makes me really happy for them, especially after the terrible crowd at the Pomona show.

Thank god the crowd and band brought the energy last night. Great day yesterday, man.

Thanks.

No idea. They are probably the first band to play tonight, since I think Rogue Wave have more fans...but I could be wrong.
Also, looks like Pete Wentz cancelled? He's not listed on the bill anymore. I was seriously hoping for a collaborative show. Hold Steady covering FOB, yes please.
Just kidding.

Last night. Wow.
Last night was my 15th show, and it was up there for sure. It's the closest I've felt to a NY show on the west coast which was cool. Some thoughts.
Hornets is really my favorite opener.
Craig talked way more than he has lately, which is always welcome.
Some smiles from Tad.
Why the hell don't they play "Our Whole Lives" every night? While the other two rockers from HIW get a huge reaction (Hurricane J and Rock Problems), man "Our Whole Lives" is amazing live.
Sadly, after 6 shows on this tour (so far) my favorite HIW song "The Weekenders" is unfortunately a muddy mess live.
Southtown Girls and Stevie Nix are really great showcases for the new guys. I totally get why they play them every night.
Yes, it's different without Franz...but this touring lineup has hit a great stride...and I'm loving it.
Blistering encore too.
Excited we get one more in So Cal...but I'm not expecting much for this Heineken event....but after last night (and considering it's the 4th show in 4 days for this old man), I'm not sure I could take another crazy show like SB tonight.
It's been a great ride this week....too bad it ends tonight.

They really should play Our Whole Lives more.
Plus, after seeing The Smidge back at the Belly-up in May, I'm surprised they never play that one either. It seems a lot more solid live, made me actually really get into the song.
That whole set rocked last night. Everything about it was simply spectacular.

Last night was my 1st show.
I had some good times with a group of fans down front until a drunk freak pushed her way up to the stage. I could deal so I split to the staircase of to the left side of the room, had an amazing view of the show. What a Band. What a crowd.
I will never miss another show if it's within 100 miles.
Thanks

I should say -- that's what I heard last. Rogue Wave 10pm, DJ set by someone, then THS at 12.
Be prepared for a line though, I'm pretty sure that the tickets you got online still might make you wait in a line. I never really know how these things are going to work when they're not "official shows" or whatever.

Sick show in Santa Barbara... things got rowdy up front but the vibe was always positive... my throat is killing me but it was all very worth it. Cheers!

I've looked, nothing. People were too drunk and too busy having the time of their life.
Definitely the best Hold Steady show I've ever seen.

I really wish one of us had gotten "We Can Get Together" recorded... literally everyone in the first few rows was arm in arm, swaying back and forth... and you could tell Craig really dug it...
Oh well, we get another chance to reek havoc AND record it this weekend!

Best show I saw this year hands down. Sorry I can't join you folks in San Diego....but I'll be bringing some of the Santa Barbara vibe to Vega$!
