Well here I am tired and irritable at work after a stormingly-stonkingly great THS show in Sheffield last night, looking to see all the enthusiastic US postings and great pics ('cos I was a d!ck and didn't take a camera) ...and not a mention.
Has everyone gone AWOL now there's a new board? F*ck it then, I'll start...highpoints of a show I reckon was heaps better than the Leeds show earlier this year...
1. Craig's dancing - always! The man just oozes joy.
2. Resurrection as the closer - I nearly wept with happiness.
3. Pace - always great to hear Craig chat, but the energy maintained by running song-after-song together was fantastic
3. A bunch of BAGIA songs played end-to-end - keeping my missus happy
4. A bunch of SS songs played, keeping me happy - see (2)!
5. Tad doing the Jimmy Page twin-necked-one's-a-twelve-string guitar thing for Discouraged
...and about a million other things. So glad THS look after us UK fans by getting over here so often.
Anyone else there last night who thought Tad didn't exactly look the picture of health though? Hope he's recovered enough to handle the tour (for his sake that is!).

Well, now I read the scene report I'd agree that the crowd didn't go mental but the set list and band's energy were unbelievable. Don't know why, but whoever I've seen at the Leadmill it's always been quite ...civilised. Must be 'cos it's only about six people deep front-to-back. Ace thing is that it's impossible to be far from the stage.

sounds awesome, i am so jealous! lack of crowd energy doesnt take away the fact that the hold steady bring it everytime. am i right? you obviously had a ball without the 'rage' as such, which is good.
making any other shows this tour?

making any other shows this tour? 'fraid not. The re-scheduling was the only thing that made it possible for me to see 'em again this year. I have an offer of a ticket for the London show on the 17th, but other stuff's getting in the way. You...?

Interesting post from crayolakid earlier on. The leadmill crowd are usually like they were last night. Saying that though I dont think they were as bad (the crowd that is) as some posters are suggesting elsewhere. Thought the hold steady were superb, been even better with "killer parties" though, Mind you we cant have everything.

Saying that though I dont think they were as bad (the crowd that is) as some posters are suggesting elsewhere. Definitely. There soes not have to be total raging in the audience for everyone to enjoy themselves, and this is the beauty of going to see more than one show on the tour. No doubt Manchester tonight will be wild and I'll love it, but a 'sensible' audience gives you half a chance to actually watch and appreciate what's going on on stage. I was right at the front and everyone round me was dancing, singing, applauding and seemed to be having a great time without having to fight for space and having people jumping on them. Each to their own.

Thanks. I am all for supporting up and coming bands trying hard to get on the step-ladder of success leading to fame fortune and musical integrity, but most these days should just call themselves "Waste of Valuable Drinking Time".
