Wish list for tonight:
Knuckles (THS has been pretty kind to Portland with songs from AKM. But, best as I can recall, never Knuckles. I would really like to here it. Not as an opener, though; I really wasn't ready for DJs as an opener last time around).
Adderall (still one of my favorite SP tracks, and based on watching youtube vids, I like the grittier live version even better).
Something new (c'mon guys, you've had more than a month off, after all).
Very much looking forward to this evening. Tuesday morning, not so much.

By the way, the venue sign does not have an opener listed. No posters around, of course.

GREAT ENERGETIC SHOW. WHAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU.
Met up with Ollie Ramone and Mrs. Ramone and another friend. Did not see Lee (but looked). Did not see LK. Or maybe I did. Started off with a Postive Jam, man. Love frannyglass. love craig. love portland.

Love frannyglass. love craig. love portland. hold steady. Fun show (and great company!). Couldn't ask for much more than a Positive Jam >> Stations >>Swish opener. As previously reported, I'm lousy with set lists. Bearded dude next to me was keeping track on his cell, and promised to post it. Really nice, balanced set, though. Does not feel like they're promoting SP anymore; plenty of it (from memory, Constructive, Navy Sheets (which will never do it for me), SP, Cheyenne, Slapped Actress), but a nicely balanced set. Set opened heavy on AKM and B&G; early on, I was surprised to be so stoked without a SS song. Ultimately, though, a good SS selection (Multitude, Stevie, Banging Camp, Hood Rat, Resurrection, Hornets to open the encore). The band sounded great throughout; probably as good as I've heard the Crystal sound, esp. up front. For better or worse, our boys have really developed into a tight bunch of pros. Very minimal talk from Craig. Sure, the "so much joy" speech may have been overplayed, but damn it, I like it. And I'm not sure I can get used to Craig drinking diet coke on stage. And no wine bottle for Franz; that may have been a JD contractual thing, I suppose. He was sipping from one of the official JD plastic cups. Really, a great set, and the band sounded fantastic. But I can't help feeling that a little part of the band's personality has been lost to professionalism. Probably a good thing for the band, and, on the whole, for the audience. They really did sound great. Stay positive, all y'all.

Hi all! I'm the girl from the front with the pigtails, cross, and string, for those of you who noticed/met me . That show was totally amazing, and I was super happy that they closed with Slapped Actress. I felt kinda bad going back to my friend's place and talking about how great the show was, though, because he got denied entry for lame reasons. I was also really glad to hear Magazines and Party Pit, which were just about the only two songs that I wanted to hear but didn't get played the last time they came through town. Moreover, The Swish never gets old.

Wow. Killer show that nailed a lotta great songs. Loud as #$@% too. I left the venue feeling like birds were chirping in my ears alongside a squeaky fanbelt. Tinnitus much? Good times, good times.

So what's the Jack deal?
Free booze?
I swear, man--that Hard Rock show was purely epic for that alone.

Everyone got a drink ticket good for one Jack Daniels drink or cocktail. Pretty sweet. After that you had to pay (I think it was $6.25 per drink). I went with the ginger and Jacks (minus the 4 or 5 feminax).

You could also win prizes by drawing the right guitar pick from a jar; we went home with a t-shirt and a JD harmonica. They also had a raffle (based on ticket number) for a JD guitar signed by the band. Dude who won it looked pretty stoked.
