I'm hitting this thing. Anybody else? Check the sick line-up: www.coachella.comLook for me standing next to 7 footer Paul Grant, former NBA star and longtime Hold Steady entourage member. We're rolling on dubs. Be down!

Fuck coachella ! Those big festivals are bullshit. Give me a sweaty club or a beautiful early 20th century theater. I want to be able to see the stage, hear the music, and afford the tickets as Max Wolfe once said.

Coachella's actually really cool. It's a particularly well-run festival, and while the tickets may be a bit spendy, Friday's lineup this year is def worth the money (I'm only going for that day). Clubs and art deco theaters are indeed awesome, but sometimes I want to see a backdrop of blue sky and palm trees for a band, and lie around in the sun on some grass in between sets. Every stage at Coachella looks like that, it's lovely. It's certainly a different experience than a club, but it's still a great way to see live bands.

I actually prefer Beaux Arts theaters but Art Deco comes in a close second. I dislike outdoor shows in general. The setting can be very beautiful, i.e. Red Rocks, or The Greek, but without a roof on the building the energy escapes into the atmosphere. I developed this theory during the time i saw The Dead 158 times. The Frost ampitheater was indeed breathtaking but it just couldn't compare to Madison Square Garden or The Kaiser.

Sequestered. Nice work with Patterson on Navy Sheets. Saw Dot Info raging up front.
After THS my crew and I checked Crystal Castles- pretty dece techo. And Girl Talk, which was very fun, out of control party music. Franz Ferdinand sounded solid. Morrissey made my night by opening with "This Charming Man."
But I have to hand it to McCartney. That dude still has it. Entire field jamming out, young and old. Worth the trip for that alone....

Morrissey made my night by opening with "This Charming Man." But I have to hand it to McCartney. That dude still has it. Entire field jamming out, young and old. Worth the trip for that alone.... One of my other boards is buzzing about Moz, I'm more of the 'what did they think would happen school' McCartney is amazing live! I saw him two tours ago and couldn't believe it. (Had to rethink being a Harrison girl.) I'm so glad you got to see him.
