Last minute long shot: If anybody is driving to Leeds from the Manchester area, I will be the kindest and most fun passenger you could ever wish for! If you're still stuck - and this is probably a long shot in terms of how convenient it is! - I'll be leaving Wigan for Leeds at approx 4.45pm. Staying the night over there, though, so can only offer one-way transport.

You're amazing! I think getting to Wigan is about as easy as getting to Leeds though so I'll just hop the train. Thanks so much for the offer, I'll buy you a pint at the gig if we can find each other!

Some you win, some you lose! Due to reasons I can't be arsed going into, I can't make it to the show tonight. so if anyone is still looking for a Leeds ticket, mine is up for grabs. I guess you would need to be in Leeds to get it (centre is fine), but I need to be on a train by 5. Luckily last night went a long way to making up for it Yell/shout/PM/reply, whatever it it is that kids do these days I'll be back in an hour Cheers

Heh, you're probably correct from past experience; 40mins Manchester to Wigan train plus an hour in the car versus an hour-ish on the train Manchester to Leeds = latter option wins It IS only £3 single on the train from Manchester to Wigan, mind you, as opposed to £15 from Manchester to Leeds - but then again, a Manchester to Leeds return is only 10p more expensive than a single, thanks to our sensibly priced railways. ;D

Hope no one is on the M62 hoping to get into town as it's been closed all day and traffic stuck for getting on for 6 hours. Lorry crash and two fatalities

Super excited for this evening. Couldn't make the Irish Centre gig last year for reasons I can't remember, so was then doubly looking forward to Manchester in September, which was of course rescheduled due to illness, only to then be ill myself for the new date in December, thus spending the gig sober and feeling like death somewhere towards the back of the Academy.
Tonight is making up for all of that. I can't wait ;D
(Edit: and now having seen Andy's post above, I'm shitting it that this will turn out to be another frustrating THS live experience! Hope it clears in the next few hours and no-one else is in a bad way).

I wish I was there. Been playing Positive Rage all day at full blast to make up for it. Last night looks like one of those once in a life time experiences. Enjoy & looking forward to hearing all about it.

What time will people be at the pub? LeSpam and I will be arriving at about 7ish. Not sure about Ben, probably the same if not earlier. Hannah and Mike are already in Leeds so they might be earlier still.

I was planning to get to Leeds quite early, but after last night and an early start today I am feeling lazy right now. So I may see y'all for a drink beforehand, but if not, catch you at the venue! And I shall come along for whatever's going on after.

All reports still suggest the M62 may be a bit chaotic up around Leeds, for anyone driving up that way. Think I'll take a gamble, come off it early and hope to find a non-motorway route into Leeds. This best not go wrong!

M62 now expected to be closed through rush hour so it will be carnage. Give South Leeds a huge wide berth if you are driving in....

Andy - how well do you know the roads around there? Any ideas which might be the best junction to come off at to avoid the worst of the chaos?

I don't know how bad it is now, but it was pretty awful this morning.
A bloke drove in from Manchester, and it took him 4 hours. The accident is after junction 27, but they came off at 24, and went up to Halifax and in via the A58.
You can get onto the A58 at 26, but I don't know how bad it will be to get to 26.
I know it is probably not much help, but seriously consider the train.

wonderful wonderful wonderful show. an early start but by the end of it i think the place felt like a loony church worship kinda thing. at really good gigs i get a hair-on-back-of-neck-standing-up feeling now and again. tonight i had an all over body fizz. thanks folks. oh and everyone in the place was considerate and kind. special night.
