According to the homepage:
11/21 Minneapolis The Graves Hotel
Start I'd get the ball rolling (even though I won't be in attendance)
EDIT: Ok out of sheer curiosity, I called the hotel to see what their concert venue is like. The lady at the front desk had never heard of a concert being there before. They don't have a specific concert venue. She said the only thing she could think of is that they're having it in some kind of large meeting room....
EDIT 2: Well ok according to the BUY TICKETS link it's some charity fundraiser party. Tickets are $90.

! a THS show is always worth going to. that price tag is kind of hefty though.

I'm out for this one. First missed Minneapolis show since the First Ave one in July '08.

I know it's always worth seeing THS but the price makes me nervous and I'm also wondering about the atmosphere there. Since it's in a hotel I'm worried it's going to be corporate (if that makes sense).

Man, I'd love to go, but $90 just isn't in my price range right now.

I'm invited to a wedding in MPLS on the 22nd.
Wasn't planning on going...it's a distant cousin.
But now...hmm...

Jason Isbell is playing at the Turf Club the night before so a drive may be in order. While the cause is good, ninety bucks a ticket hurts and I wonder about the atmosphere. Will they let me in wearing shitkickers and a beatup flannel?

I wonder about the atmosphere. Will they let me in wearing shitkickers and a beatup flannel? i assume if you pay/donate you are in. fuk it. but note, the invite i got in the mail artfully shows a couple ... her in cocktail dress, he in a tie. the invitation is nicer than most wedding invitations i ever got. saying: THE ATTIRE Urban chic, hipster black tie, creative cocktail … you get the idea. Dress yourself to the New York/Brooklyn inspired theme of Urban Playground. Anything goes, as long as hip is on the hanger.

Me & the Mrs. had to cancel our Vegas trip at the last minute earlier this year. Had a credit with AA, and making a long weekend out of this will probably be a better use of a couple hundred dollars than 30 minutes at the craps table. Not to mention the fact that THS seems to have developed an aversion to north TX, so if they're not coming to us damnit we'll take our show on the road. And for a good cause to boot. I'm thinking there won't be too many out of towners there (and perhaps even fewer US), so please drop me a line if you're attending.

It may be steep to get in, but if you can think of a better way to make a THS-related deduction on your taxes, i'd like to hear it.

Okay..so we just bought 2 tickets (with the code?) Everything else was sold out. Hopefully we actually have tickets. Booked the hotel at the Graves. Man, I didn't think we would dish out for this. But after two hours at the casino and a bunch of drinks, we caved in. Anyone else?

I called the graves to find out where they playing. They said on the sixth floor. We stayed at the graves for the bac to back mps shows and the sixth floor was the "xbox" floor. The graves has certain rooms you can pay extra for that are sponsored by Microsoft that have xboxs in them as well as laptops and mp3 players. The sixth floor had a video game room thing on it. I never went in there, it was closed by the time we checked in. I feel like we are going to stick out like a sore thumb after seeing the dress code. Anyone got plans to meet up prior?

Too lazy/tired to type it out. Brother Ali came on during hoodrat. I got most of it on video. I'll upload it later. Totally weird show. The audience was odd. I'm use to see Brendon's head in front of me, not some 50 year old lady. Lots of ball gowns and rich folk. You guys would of had a hay day bashing those who don't rock out. There were two girls in front of me, who told me they were super stoked to get so close, but as soon as the show started, they got pissed that their martinis got spilled. But the guys played pretty hard. There were some weird sound issues though. Attachments:

Yeah, some young ladies got pissed at me (wearing my Joe Mauer Twins jersey with tuxedo shirt) for jumping around in the front row. Sheesh. It's a Hold Steady concert, for crying out loud!

Ha, yea, you were in front of me. I had the shiny silver coat on. These two girls ahead of me, kept looking at each other as you guy danced around. Who the hell drinks martinis in the front row of a rock show? Geez.

That was me and the boy (my son) getting messed up on the music in the front row. Wife and daughter there as well. We make Hold Steady concerts a family affair.
