Hey everyone! Two shows on consecutive nights less than 90 minutes away from each other. Who's going? I'll be at both, #496.

I'll definitely be at the Atlanta show, and I'm planning on going to the Athens show as well. Hopefully I'll be able to take off of work - I live in Columbus so it'll have to be a mini-roadtrip for me.

I'm thinking about flying in for the Atlanta show, but don't know anyone there.
Who wants to meet up so i don't have to go to a show by myself?

This will be my 7th show, and I am SO pumped. I have tickets for ATL, thinking about going to the Athens show too. I'll be at the Yacht Club (down the street from Variety Playhouse) before the Atlanta show drowning in ginger and jack if anyone wants to join.

I am definitely in for ATL and trying to juggle work so I can go to Athens. The 40 Watt is my all-time favorite live music venue.

thatfuckinghipster (and everyone else), it's a weeknight show, so the bars shouldn't be crazy busy if people want to meet up. Yacht, Porter, Corner, Brewhouse, whatever.

thatfuckinghipster (and everyone else), I will definitely be going to Athens. If you're coming into town, let me know.
Athens or Atlanta, both venues are top-notch.

I am flying in from Nashville for both shows as well. Last time I saw THS I was going to hitch to Oxford but ended up catching a ride with a guy from the boards and we drove to Oxford and Athens. Oxford was alright but Athens blew me away. I can't wait to go back.

I'd TOTALLY be at both of these if I wasn't in Australia till July. I live just down the road from Little Five Points and Variety is one of the best venues in Atlanta IMO. Definitely grab drinks at Yacht, and Front Page News is good for food if you're hungry.
Damn. If I were home it'd be a party. I'd even head down to Savannah. Maybe some other time!

I am driving over from Atlanta to Athens with my oldest friend (met on the first day of first grade, 1976...awww) about 1:00 PM on Wednesday. We're just going to stay overnight, because we're too old to make that drive back anymore (got home at 4:00 AM last time they played the 40 Watt).
Head back to town mid-morning on Thursday, work a 1/2 day, then it's off to Variety Thursday night.
BTW, tickets are still available for both shows.

flying to savannah monday staying with one best friend, seeing THS in SAV on tuesday, we're driving up to athens, meeting best friend two and hitting the 40 watt on wednesday, the three of us over to atlanta thursday, fly back home to ohio on friday. a pretty killer week. it's what i'm gonna do instead of a traditional bachelor party.
i don't know the venue in savannah, but the other two are pretty great.
as for athens, the place for a drink is the manhattan cafe, a block east of the 40 watt and then half a block north

Athens, Hold Steady + Bachelor Party! Whoa. And Hold Steady again the following night in Atlanta! Double whoa.
Better put on my drinking shoes.

Got my tickets. I'll be at both shows. Probably won't be able to get to the Athens show early, but I'm definitely up for something in L5P before the Variety Playhouse show.

Just got my tickets to the show at Variety. Super pumped.... haven't seen them since 07' in Milwaukee. Fairly new to ATL, so I'll be one of the losers there with his shadow. Probably be drinking at the Porter or Yacht beforehand.

My fiancee and I will definitely be at the Atlanta show. Going to the Athens show is tempting, but there probably wouldn't be much time between when I got home from the Athens show and when I'd be getting up to go to work. We shall see, though.

I'll be there with my sister and little brother! No drinking on the night (I have to drive), but definitely a good time will be had! [I'll be wearing the goofy-looking hat!]

just find downtown parking. you may walk a couple of blocks, but shouldn't be difficult. school's out, so it shouldn't be a huge deal. and there's no shortage of places to drink.
now I'm just wondering if it'll be normal Athens show time or a regular show time. with twin tigers opening, they know nothing starts until midnight in athens. but I'm not going to gamble on this one

my wife and i will be at the athens show, our first one! i am psyched. i started w/ THC w/ stay positive, and soon bought all the recordings (except the new one). how much of the show is the new stuff? i've only listened to the new one streamed one time, and didn't love it. how crazy are the shows?

My friend Dave and I will be getting into downtown Athens tonight around 9. I'll be in a US shirt. Someone local pick a bar close to the 40 watt, and let's do this!

the setlist last night (i'll post it in a minute on the savannah thread) was a really good mix of new and old. and give the new record a try in its full glory. i was so-so after streaming it. then liked it when i listened to it for reals, really liked it after i listened to it a bit and after seeing it live, fucking love it

Seems weird there's just one opener with doors at 9, yeah? You'd think that'd put them on by 11 or so. I'm fine with early; I just want to make sure I'm there in time to get close.
Seconding what buddymo said. I don't know Athens, but someone pick a bar and I'll be there in US shirt #496.

I'd recommend hitting up Copper Creek- it's a block and a half up the street from the 40 Watt (same side of the street) and features some great local brews for $3. Only a 3-4 minute walk. As for parking, anywhere downtown will work fine. The Farm, Max Canada, and Little Kings Shuffle Club are all nearby bars that have pretty good selections. You really can't go wrong in Athens anyway...

40 Watt confirms probably 10 and 11 set times, so I'll probably hang out at Copper Creek until 9:45ish, then head over.
