Workin' on it.
Unfortunately, it looks like I'm probably out. I'll still be at the OKC show, but Dallas just wasn't in the cards.
Oh, snap. The kid stays in the picture.

Despite what Jackie Onassis said, I'll be there. Bringing extra security.

Tremendous show. Very high energy, (mostly) cool crowd beyond an inconsiderate bozo during the encore break, and a really good venue. Good scene representation, too- Hank, Greenhat, CT, Animobile, and I were all accounted for. Plus: McQ handled bass duties for The Whigs, as their bassist had a family matter that called him away.
With the exception of "Same Kooks," we got virtually all of side one of Boys and Girls in America (and some of side two), along with a healthy dose of Separation Sunday. Stay Positive and Heaven Is Whenever dominated the set, however.
Random stats: Number of times I was mistaken for Finn or asked if we were related: 4 Number of times I was asked if I was "really" a Twins fan: 3 (Do people in Yankees hats have to answer justify themselves?) Number of weird chance meetings that reminded me that I probably didn't need that pulled pork sandwich and fries: 1 ("I Like This" Girl, that was a bold gambit, indeed.)

this was an excellent show to get back on the wagon with THS. it had been all most 10 months since i my last show. so i was really fired up for it. there was no let down in this show. the band sounded great. since this was my first time seeing the new lineup, i was really surprised how great Tad and Steve sounded together. they really sound like they have been playing together for a lot longer.
it was great getting to meet CFW, Hank and Greenhat. they crowd was really good and were into the show pretty much the entire time. there really weren't any completely obnoxious people....at least around us.
one of the weirder things i have ever seen happened after the show but that shall stay between CFW and me.....unless he is ready to share with the world.
i can vouch for the people that came up to him and asked if he was related to Craig. there was one person that took a picture of him from a distance......
we did go to Dallas.....and it was most excellent.....

campfirewood1980, Hey, that tall girl blocking your shots it me! Sorry! It's not my footage- I was on the opposite side of the stage, between Finn and Koob. I've just been checking YouTube diligently today...

one of the weirder things i have ever seen happened after the show but that shall stay between CFW and me.....unless he is ready to share with the world. Bizarre. Absolutely bizarre. ct and I were waiting to chat a bit with Tad and Dusty post-show, and a young lady who appeared to be feeling no pain started talking to us- she's in the "Oh, wait, you're not the lead singer, are you?" camp. We were friendly and teased her a bit, good-naturedly playing on the "Texas pride" thing. (Her: "What's wrong with Dallas?" ct and I in unison: "It's in Texas.") But then, out of the blue this girl who is a COMPLETE STRANGER felt the need to full-on touch my gut (I've got a little bit of a spare tire, which I'm a little self-concious about; my poor posture doesn't help the situation) and said, "I like this. You don't even care," essentially telling me that it was cool that I had given up. ct and I looked at each other and just shook our heads in disbelief. I was relieved when she got her picture with the real Finn and left. Lord only knows how much weirder it could've gotten. Tomorrow: sit-ups. I don't want to be treated like a piece of meat again.
