"Charlemagne in Sweatpants" just came on the radio at my desk. I turned it up real loud.
I think it just made my whole afternoon. LOVE it when I hear random THS on the radio.
Had to share with people who might care.

What station were you listening to? I always request them on Radio 1 here, but they never play anything. Laaaaame.

That's because Radio 1 is blaaaaah!
I listen to Absolute, because you tend to get some nice classic rock and pop with some modern indie/rock. it's not exactly an adventurous station, but I find it comforting...

Radio 1 really is crud. Well, it's alright if you want to listen to Lady Ga Ga, the Pussycat Dolls, then Lady Ga Ga again, then Girls Aloud, then PussyCat Dolls again... It's so damn repetitive.

I'm in Minnesota and listening to The Current. You can listen online at www.thecurrent.org - they play them often but I haven't heard Charlemagne before on the radio. Made my day.

The Current actually played Charlemagne as I was driving home from a Hold Steady show sometime last year. I'm assuming it was not coincidence. But it was still pretty cool.

I'm pretty sure I heard the same thing at the same time last year.

I haven't heard Charlemagne live yet this year. Hoping that will change.
And once again, I'm KOTM!

Radio 2 (in the UK) did feature THS in session on Mark Radcliffe / Stuart Maconie'e evening show before Xmas. However, you're unlikely to hear em even on Radio 2 outside any features or specials.
CDs on constant rotation in my car instead!
As for Radio 1 - it makes me feel my age (same as Craig Finn!) - Lord.... to be 38 forever?!

I don't even listen to the radio. All the stations where I live only mainstream, or classic.
If not, it's like gospel or Spanish, or something weird.

I never listened to the radio before but thank god for The Current. Although, I think it isn't quite as varied as it was when it started I LOVE it and am thankful for it every single day.

I like the Current, but I'm in love with Radio K and have been since seventh grade. They play LFTR PLLR and the Hold Steady a bit.

I grabbed my girlfriend and went "Ohmygod!HoldSteady!!" I mean, I repeated it a few times, so I think she understood by the time I'd stopped shaking her.

In all honesty my husband introduces me to most of the bands I end up loving . . . hmmm, perhaps I should be listening to the K myself. I do love Barb, Mary and Mark. Actually, I think I love most of The Current DJs.

I can Imagine. It's got that loose groove in it and I bet Tad goes off when they play that song live.

I've still never heard The Hold Steady on the radio, ever. But our stations here suck.

Every now and again Triple J here plays them. Although I've never heard Charlemagne. Its usually Chips Ahoy! or Little Hoodrat Friend.
