Favourite: La Sala Rosa, Montreal, fall '07. So much Jameson (WD can attest). I still can't believe I made my flight home the next morning. THIS is totally my favorite show. (I still can't believe you got me to my hotel in a cab at, what time???) Followed closely by Birmingham and Ybor. XO WD

A hard choice to make because part of the joy of a THS show is meeting up with loads of great people before and after - especially in Manchester but also Newcastle last year. Highlight is probably The Point, Cardiff 2007. Wonderful summers day out with my daughter, great venue, we met some of the the band, Ben gave Rachel a t-shirt and Tad made sure she got a set list which Franz signed - it would have been even better if we had known Hannah then. my aunt so remembered you at lucero, though. fun moment. That was a great night as well - its about time they came over again. Don't suppose the pair of you are going to see the Cinematics at the Bar Academy on Monday?

this, or the warsaw with the constantines. i'd like to add that my favorite shows usually involved being handed a bottle of whiskey from the stage and lots of CF barking/slurring and sweat and general unruliness, something the band has grown away from in favor of tighter sets - which is good and natural, of course. i just like really like it when shit gets unhinged.

I've been to about THS shows now and by far the one that they sounded the best, musically and vocally was just this month April 10th in Boulder. Hands down the best one I've seen as far as sound

This is tough. But I'll give the nod to the WTC show. So much positivity in stark contrast to the backdrop. It was a very important moment, personally...kind of closure, you know? Behold the power of rock and roll.

THIS is totally my favorite show. (I still can't believe you got me to my hotel in a cab at, what time???) It was certainly approaching dawn. I seriously don't know how I/we survived those two days. I'm sure I still owe you a round or two; one day I'll remedy that. I have vague memories of pounding fists with Tad before Hornets (or was it Chicago?) in Montreal. Anyone care to confirm/deny? And I also remember falling in love with a St. Vincent look-alike in Toronto, but that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

august 06 at the lizard lounge in lancaster, pa probably tops my list. really small, smokey room with a low ceiling and no stage or barrier. craig's guitar was buzzing so he just dropped it after the second song and went off with the mic for the rest of the show. they played 4-5 songs from BAGIA, my first time hearing them since the album wasn't out yet. my girlfriend and i fell on stage in front of craig during "Resurrection". there was this feeling of holy shit this is so amazing and fun tempered with the thought that we probably wouldn't see the band in this kind of setting again because big things were about to happen.

Ingredients:
1. Date: October 29, 2005 Halloween on State Street 2. One well-aged cynical rock and roll nut 3. One venue, The Annex, Madison - small, well-seasoned, capacity a bit over 100 maybe 4. Location: 25 miles from home 5. Ticket: Pretty much shoved down throat by connected friend/family
With 1 and 2 together, add 3 and 4, followed eventually by 5. Add costumes. Drink. Take pictures. Drink some more. Walk around. Drink some more. etc.
Go into show. Mix well. Separate. Stand in back on riser by sound guy. Listen. Smile. Feel bass in feet. Smile so it hurts. See future of music. Clap. Clap a lot. Buy cd and shirt.
Have drink with bass player. Drink. Drink. Walk around. Drink some more. Give bass player ride to hotel. Watch bass player walk with round-bottom shoes.
Drive home (not recommended).
Sleep. ___
Wake up.
Smile.
Play cd. Smack self upside head for not buying vinyl.
Smile.

Smile.

I also saw them only once (Berlin, April 14th, 2007), but that was doubtlessly the best show I have ever been to. From a very subjective view though. Small venue, not more than 80, maximum a 100 people had shown up. Most of them were just standing in the back, only a couple of people were raging up front. But that gave you the feeling that this is really a private show, a gig just for you in your private rumpus room. Absolutely stunning! I'm not too sure if the boys were that fond of German audiences (we're pretty polite folks ), but I really had the time of my life. The whole night became a personal myth alreday long ago. Felix, what's it going to take to get you to come to Köln next weekend? It's not THAT far from Berlin...

Right now I'm nostalgic for Manchester Feb 07. First time they'd been in the UK since 04 and in the meantime got a sick new drummer and made SS and BAGIA. Tiny sold out room, two encores, totally wasted, surrounded by friends and my nan got to the meet the band.

17th. i know this because it was 2 days after wolves. You're right, I found the tickets. They are now securely blu tacced to my bedroom wall. From now on, every show I go to will have its tickets put up on that wall. I hope it fills quickly.

I enjoyed Oct 30, 2007 at the Metro in Chicago quite a bit. My first THS show. They just had a great vibe. Art Brut was okay too.
The co-headliner date with DBT in Chicago also rocked hard. The co-encore with 7 guitars rocking (albeit a bit sloppy) was something I won't forget soon.

I put my stubs under glass on our coffee table but some got beer-soaked, so I laminated them and keep them in my mom's old hankerchief box now. It's full of tickets now. First ticket - Jimi Hendrix - Feb. 1968. - $5. 41 years ago! He had 8 Marshalls behind him, Noel Redding had 4 and I was about 15 fifteen feet away. My first show was one of the best ever. Talk about lucky!
