while some people go home and "rest" next week, i'll be enjoying some more clean coastal air. you should come! as has been noted elsewhere, i'll have "major general" on vinyl. nice light blue vinyl, to match the cover. Apr 21 - Bottom Of The Hill, SF, CA Apr 22 - Redding Downtown Eatery, Redding, CA Apr 23 - Ike Box, Salem, OR Apr 24 - Sunset Tavern (late show), Seattle, WA Apr 25 - East End, Portland, OR Apr 27 - The Press Club, Sacramento, CA Apr 28 - The Cellar Door, Visalia, CA Apr 29 - Spaceland, LA CA all the shows are with Moneybrother - www.myspace.com/moneybrother - who you Springsteen-lovers should check out, if the idea of the E Street Band with a Swedish accent has any appeal. ok, see you soon then! some personal highlights of the casino show last night: the scattered, seated elderly couples who'd clearly been comped tickets to the night's entertainment. the live video on huge screens, intercut witrh screensaver-esque shots of billowing smoke or burbling streams when there wasn't enough on-stage action. the backstage group shot of robin williams, crystal gayle, garry shandling, and john denver circa 1983. what a drug-fuelled hang that must've been. regards, franz

If you Europeans really want the vinyl I'll pack a few copies. Just drop me an email so I know to find you at shows; I don't know what the merch situation is gonna be especially at the crows shows.
Thanks! F

Thanks to the start time, I was able to make it to Franz's LA show tonight. The setlist:
I'll Need A Volunteer Dead Sailors Jeff Penalty (with the real Jeff Penalty in the audience!) Hey Dad! Trains Confessions of an Ineffective Casanova World/Inferno vs. The End of the Evening There Will Be Violins Hi-Lili, Hi-Lo (Jimmy Durante)
Franz was funny and charming as usual. A fun set. Unfortunately, thanks to hipster Silverlake, he was fighting loud bar conversation in the next room throughout his show. Not the best venue for an acoustic show. I give him all the credit for ignoring that and putting on a great show. My only disappointment was not hearing X-Games, my favorite song off Major General. That said, this was not the venue for that song.....I couldn't help but wish he was playing at Largo (the best place for quiet, acoustic shows). Hopefully next time.
Thanks so much fn.
Jack
