For those of you looking for an excuse to come to the 405, it looks like we're getting a Wilco date on June 15. They're playing the Coca-Cola Building in Bricktown, which isn't the best venue, sound-wise (it's kind of a big barn, for lack of a better descriptor), but it's relatively smallish (2k or less) and is 15 minutes from my front door. If anyone is following this tour, let me know. The Braving the Funeral gang may be at this one en masse and may hit Tapwerks or somewhere nearby to pregame.

I'll be seeing them Thursday here in Bloomington. I can't wait! It's been far too long...

Their new DVD is pretty freaking amazing too. If you can't catch a show (and you must catch a Wilco show), check out Ashes of American Flags- it just came out.

We're going to Wappinger's Falls. Wilco has sort of fallen off of my radar , but I am looking forward to hearing some of their new stuff.
I have a Wilco. Now. t-shirt & bumper sticker on my car. It cracks me us simply because its a total Richard Nixon rip-off.

Back In the Jay Bennett, Being There era, Wilco was without question my very favorite band. I saw them 15 times from 96-02. I even asked my wife to marry me under the mirror ball at there show@ The Fillmore on New Years Eve 98-99. There playing three shows in my area in late June including one on my birthday. I just can't really get into them anymore. Im anxious to hear the new record but It won't be out untill june 30th. I just really wish they were still a rock n roll band.

Got my ticket for brooklyn in the mail yesterday. Sixty bucks is a little extreme for general admin, but oh well. It'll be a good show (though it'll be a trek to get out to keyspan park on a monday evening. And then back.)
