The best pair of shoes I've ever owned. Sadly, they're nearing (past) the point of being unwearable in public. I've been looking for a suitable replacement for the past few months, but am yet to find anything.

This is a very delightful thread. I was eyeing some sneaks earlier today.

i only tend to have one pair of shoes at a time, and i pretty much wait until they're unusable before i get any new ones. my current shoes are on their last legs, but they've served me well. i've walked somewhere around three to four thousand miles in them. edit: they're new balance 577s by the way. best shoes ever.

I notice that most of you kids own sneakers. The last pair of sneakers that I actually bought was in 1994. They are a pair of white and blue New Balance running shoes. I still own them. Somewhere down the line I was given a pair of of these yellow and black Nike's that have this kind of gummy sole which causes me to stop short and fall. But they are great on beer soaked floors so they are my go to shoes for shows. Mostly I wear workboots, or some kind of topsider, or hiking shoe. I wouldnt consider them nerdy at all. And I love me some croc topsiders. I can step in elk shit in those things and get to feel nature seeping through those little holes, and then just grab the hose and wash em off. I do not need to defend them anymore. They complete me.

these are my latest purchase. i have never had adio before. they are dead comfy. good for raging. i normally rock something along the lines of these: which are literally the most comfortable shoes i've ever owned and should probably be thrown away soon. i might get a replacement pair which are called "rage". or these for the warmer months. white is scary any other time:

I almost never wear anything other than a skirt or dress, so I tend not to wear trainers as they look a bit weird with skirts...

I'm size 12.5, so I have literally no choice in shoes, unless I go for a comfy pair of clown shoes;

These are probably the nerdiest shoes I have, if sexy librarian shoes count: But if you see me in Bloomington, you will recognize my by these shoes ... unless I wear the Mary Janes....

Perhaps I have a faulty definition.

hey, nerds are cute. - revenge of the nerds - freaks and geeks - superbad - juno
Nerd shoes is not equal to ugly shoes.
Okay, actually, my girlfriends tell me my shoes are ugly. So maybe I take that back.

Really, this all goes back to Mark Napier and his disapproval of the people on this board and their "nerd shoes."
So, I would say, if you are on this board, and wear shoes, they are likely nerd shoes.

I wear heels of some sort pretty much every day. It's more unusual for me to wear a flat shoe. I have pairs I can run in, and pairs I cannot run in. The Bloomington shoe I can likely run in, but have not tried yet. I have heels that I take long dogwalks in. Actually, my best snow and ice shoes had a little 2" spike heel that you can use to dig into the ice. My girlfriends alternate in amazement and amusement at my abilities in my shoes.

S&G, if I were a pair of shoes, I'd totally mack on your librarian shoes... but I'm not, so I won't.

i always assumed mr napier was mocking us for wearing cheap, comfortable tennis shoes to gigs. which i often do. but these are my favorite concert-going kicks: they were my grandmother's hiking boots. she passed away about 12 years ago, and had not had occasion to buy a pair of hiking boots for about 10 years before that. they're pretty old. and near and dear to me. so, they're desperately in need of some repairs, or at least some new insoles, but i am afraid that they would be somewhat less my grandmother's boots if i started replacing things.

I lived in these for about two years, but they got to the point where my mom said I needed new shoes. I ended up replacing them with a pair of real Chuck Taylors, which are basically the ideological antithesis of the Blackspots that I loved so dearly. But it really just came down to having a gift card to DSW and being a poor college student. (Edited since the picture was no longer showing up.)
