Join Steve Lamacq on his BBC 6Music programme as he declares Thursday 4th December to be the day when we shall all celebrate the importance of the good old fashioned 'band' T-shirt. For too long we have stood aside and watched in silence as so called 'It Girls' have paraded around LA and London in Led Zeppelin and Ramones T-shirts - attempting to purchase some credibility but in turn suggesting that the band shirt is nothing more than a fashion accessory. But no longer! We say dig out your T-shirts and be proud! Show them we care who we wear on our chests; and that we are not going to stand idly by as they undermine the lost art of showing people "we were there at the Brixton Academy in 1998" or "we travelled all the way to Wolverhampton on a Tuesday in November and still have the shirt to prove it." www.bbc.co.uk/6music/shows/steve_lamacq/

it's a great idea - although like most people who work in offices, the only day we get to wear none Officey clothes is a friday, so they should have picked a friday, where my fellow employees generally look at my band t-shirts and ask "who the feck are ..."

Pretty much the only band shirt I wear: It's my classic, like a pair of Chucks.

I quite often have a band t shirt on under my scrub top. It's cold if you don't have a shirt on underneath.

My sister's three HS shirts have been worn to my new school on multiple occasions. I also dig my Beatles shirts.
But it definitely sounds like a party.

eurgh I cannot stand Converse. It was the first thing I decided to conform against. I really hate people who judge guys on what shoes they wear. Shoes main purpose is for comfort. In the same way a coat is for warmth. I don't give a fuck if my coat is uncool, stop being a fashion nazi about it. (directed at general dickheads)

As I collect merch like scrapbook paraphernalia, however, and am a bit of a hoarder, I fully expect to be rocking the next several months of unemployment in band shirts every day, no repeats.

Every time I see the title of this thread I think April 12th, not December 4th. And I can't figure out why you're planning a specific day to wear a tshirt in six months. Although since it's 08 I suppose it would be talking about a day six months ago. I'm American and easily confused.
