for some 2,000 of us, tonight was the first time we've had something approaching a live show from THS for a long time. I missed a show in 2019 and then had tickets cancelled in 2020.
I was fully prepared to be disappointed tonight. Not in the band, but in the experience- and I was wrong.
This was cathartic. The band was great, and to be able to chat with other fans wasn't a distraction, it was an add on.
but now we are done and sitting at home instead of drinking and catching up.
how are you guys?

Excited for The Weekender! I'm really digging these live streams too; the audio/video quality has been surprisingly great for me so far. Staying positive for now, though, and kinda sorta hoping we'll be back in person by the end of the year.

It just makes me sad when they kick out these rippin' jams and then no applause! I almost wish they had canned applause, but that would be antithetical to what THS is all about.

Cathartic is exactly right. The livestreams have all been great and most importantly, as you point out, the community is an add on. A wonderful add on. I’d much rather be in London right now getting smashed with friends old and new, or more likely trying to navigate my way back to my hotel from Tapping The Admiral in a storm of bricks (thanks for the reminder Stringer, if you happen to read this!) but shit, these live streams are life affirming. Consequently I’m still drinking Mexican beer at 3:44am and I feel fantastic.

Someone mentioned it in the chat last night, but the Audio mixing was killer. Looking forward to the weekender shows

Last night was great, even though in my confusion at my alarm going off at 0125 I couldn't work out how to unmute the stream until the end of the Feelers. The Massive Nights shows were far better than I had dared to hope, and really looking forward to this weekend and some regular sleep patterns!

I thought they were great last night. The ODP songs already sound like they've taken a big step forward from the December shows. Unpleasant Breakfast was infectious and definitely the highlight for me.
As people have mentioned, the audio mixes on these shows have been way better than I expected. Props to everyone involved in pulling these off!

Just caught the 16 minute highlight on Facebook, opening five songs, KILLER. Band sounds incredible. Tad and Steve have some of the best rock and roll guitar tone on the planet. And, yes, kudos to the audio engineers. The mix was fantastic.

Weekender night 1 was fucking awesome. These shows get me so jazzed, even if it’s not the same as actually being in the venue with them. Uniquely emotional. I love them. Not a ton of surprises in the set list tonight but I expect tomorrow we will see some. New songs sounded awesome. The Feelers is a very very good live opener, what a way to ease everyone into the atmosphere of the evening. Hope tomorrow we get to see Unpleasant Breakfast. Sorry if I’m rambling. It’s barely 5pm on the east coast and I’m already plastered.

Set list for Weekender #1 was great! They hit all eight albums (just one each from TD & AKM) and played more than half of Sep Sunday. I was a little surprised to not hear more of ODP (they did "Feelers," "Spices," and "Covenant") but I'm sure we'll get more tomorrow.
