So I imagine most of the denizens of the Scene will be spending the weekend with "ODP" on loop, but if you're looking for something mellower in the mix, check out An Overview on Phenomenal Nature, the second record from NYC singer Cassandra Jenkins. She's one of the singers that's done backing vocals for some of Craig's solo stuff, the album was also produced by Josh Kaufman, and even has Horn Steady member Stuart Bogie on saxophone. Very different overall vibe from THS, but does feature intricate lyrics, lots of names, and some speak-singing -- you can tell she's picked up a few tricks from Craig. pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/cassandra-jenkins-an-overview-on-phenomenal-nature/

Yep, also on my list for the weekend. I can't stop listening to Hard Drive. Really enjoyed her when she opened up for Craig, looking forward to digging in more.
