Hey folks. Long time lurker, kinda new to posting on here. Been meaning to post this one for a while - any other Cayetana fans out there?
They've been one of my favourite up and coming bands since I heard their first album back in 2015, and I was so stoked to hear that they opened one of the Brooklyn Bowl nights. To borrow a phrase, my scene felt unified. Wish I could have been there, but I did get to see them Friday night in Manchester opening for the Menzingers (who were also great), and they were amazing.
Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts!

pretty great band. i saw some of their early shows and wasn't that into it but one night their set really clicked with me. i like the first record more than the new one but both are very good. allegra is one of my favorite current bass players. there's this one off song they did that might be my favorite song of theirs: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qEDdHmUt3R4

Nice thread!
I only got into them recently too.
They were on The Chris Gethard Show around the same time those UK dates with Menzingers and PUP (what a lineup!) got announced so I gave them a listen and really liked their latest record. I ended up not being able to go to the Menzingers gig in the end, which was a real shame, but I've still got New Kind Of Normal in Spotify rotation.

Yeah, both albums are excellent. I think NKON is lyrically deeper and more emotive, but there are a few more catchy, upbeat tracks on Nervous Like Me. And I agree, Allegra Anka's bass lines are so musical and interesting. Sorry you couldn't make the gig, it was a really good night!

Got into Cayetana through Camp Cope with whom they made a great split 7". Got into Camp Cope through The Smith Street Band. All really great bands with strong lyrics. Love me some feminist lyrics
