They're doing some reunion shows this summer to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the '59 Sound album. I was never a huge fan but did enjoy that album quite a bit, and if the setlist pulls mainly from it I might be interested. Job/kid/family limits me to maybe one non-local show a month, and I'll likely have to travel at least 2-3 hours to see them. Anyone who's been - are they a good enough live band to warrant?

Probably too late to be helpful now, but I grabbed tickets to the 59 Sound show in London as that's one of my favourite records of all time. Meant a lot to me when it came out. I still follow Brian's solo career and thought his Horrible Crowes record was exceptional - possibly the best thing he's done.
I did see them a few times before they broke up (or went on hiatus or whatever) and always loved it, but if I'm being brutally honest, I wouldn't say it's a 'can't miss!' kind of show. It was always a lot of fun though, a really positive energy, and like you say, if they're doing the 59 Sound a reliable bunch of great songs.
I'm confident you'd have a good time if you went, especially for these shows because they're doing an album you enjoy and the fans will be super happy to see them back, but as you're not a huge huge fan, I also don't think you'd regret not going, if that makes any sense.

Thanks for the reply my man. Chose to forego it as I've purchased tickets to enough other shows for the next few months for my wallet to feel it into 2019. I enjoy '59 Sound and American Slang a bit too, but their albums have always sounded a bit too produced to me, like they wouldn't be able to replicate them live too well. And after seeing bands like THS, my standards are a bit high. I do agree with you on the Crowes record as well; "Behold the Hurricane" alone is better for me than anything TGA has recorded.

Welp, better not go and see any other band ever again then!
