Simple poll to pass the time.
If you had to go to bat for one Replacements record as the standout, which would you choose?

Tim, easy. side B of Tim is absolutely perfect. Let it Be is a close 2nd, but it's not as consistent and doesn't quite reach the heights of Tim. their discography is definitely a bell to me.

Glad to see the Tim love so far. For the longest time I was convinced Let It Be was their greatest, just because that's what people tend to hold up as the key Replacements album, but after a while I realised that Tim was my favourite for a bunch of reasons.
The production is a mess, but then in a way I'm kind of grateful for that. The last really chaotic sounding Replacements record.

the production doesn't really bother me, though that might be because i'm just so used to hearing it.

I listened to Let It Be and Tim again today because of this thread and it was hard to choose a favourite between them but, like many other posters, Tim is better from top to bottom. However, Tim doesn't have "I Will Dare" on it. Aargh!!!

Although Tim has the incredible name going for it, Let It Be wins handily for passion, "Unsatisfied" and "Answering Machine".

I'm on team 'Let It Be'. Can't quite get into Tim but I should give it more listens. I have this problem where if I really like the first album I hear from a band and listen to it a bunch of times, I'd just rather listen to the one I know and love again rather than try a different one.
edit: ok, I can get into it, I just like 'Let It Be' more.
