First, the word "transverberate" is an unambiguous allusion to St. Theresa of Avila, strongly suggesting that our precog girl is the same girl referred to elsewhere in the songs as "St. Theresa" [YLHF, CSTLN, TSPotC, OWL]. Whoever she is, it's 4am and she's getting the full vision of Charlemagne-as-Christ, and (like St. Theresa, reinforced by the Billy Joel reference and the rest of the explicitly intimate context) is in erotic ecstasy, shivering and smiling.
Just came across a note a genius that mentioned St. Theresa of Avila as the patron saint of headaches. At first I thought it might be some kind of joke.
But looking it up, I found that she is indeed the patron saint of headache and migraine sufferers.
Also she is the patron saint of:
-people ridiculed for piety
-loss of parents
-people in opposition to church authorities
At least a few of those would apply to Mary - sick people, check; bodily ills, check (coughing, and other drug symptoms)...It seems like somewhere she may have been ridiculed...
Not sure about the others.
Going back to the one about migraine sufferers, that seems completely fitting for Mary being the Chips Ahoy! woman.
At some point you say the headaches are fake and said you would explain why later, but I can't find any post going into that.
I'm interested to see what your reading is, especially since the connection between Mary...St. Theresa...migraine headaches is so clear.
