I don't know if there are any other vinyl collectors on here, but I thought it'd be important for there to be a place to discuss records.
Personally, I've been collecting for about 2 years, and my collection is at about 300 pieces.
The pride of my collection is my complete (with variations) and more specifically my copy of the "Milkcrate Mosh" 7 inch on 'junk' vinyl number 20/500.
So, what about you guys? What do you have? What do you want? Know of any sweet deals?

I really love vinyl, though I don't know if I qualify as a nerd. I don't really seek rarities, and I'm not a very active buyer. I just really love owning my favorite albums on vinyl.

i just recently bought a new record player, so i have been picking up some stuff here and there. Nothing too special really just a bunch of albums i love and wanted to hear on vinyl. i really love my copy of TV on the Radio's "Desperate Youth Bloodthirsty Babes" though, it has an etched 4th side which is really awesome.

I only buy cheap, questionable vinyl. One of the best recent acquisitions is the Original Broadway Cast recording of "Funny Girl." 25 cents. Nothing beats 25 cent Streisand.

I think my most prized piece of vinyl is my Lemuria/Kind of Like Spitting split 12" on clear vinyl (only 200 pressed), but I mainly just buy it for the music, so my collection is growing slowly (but surely).

My prized vinyl possessions are my original VU & Nico with an intact banana Holy shit. I would never be able to resist the temptation of peeling the sticker. I get all my vinyl from Oxfam (Mr Charitable) or my local record shop. Oxfam has some pretty good stuff-well the Huddersfield one does.

Nothing particularly rare. I have a lot of records though, probably close to 250 7" and around 100 12". A lot of them never ever get listened to because they're awful though.
My Generation on Brunswick I quite like... Hot Smoke and Sasafrass by The Bubble Puppy is appreciated.

I would slap my grandma for a copy of that Velvet Underground record. And I love my Grandma.

The pride of my collection is my complete (with variations) and more specifically my copy of the "Milkcrate Mosh" 7 inch on 'junk' vinyl number 20/500. NICE! My two most prized ones are my Mountain Goats vinyls of "Black Pear Tree" and "Satanic Messiah." Black Pear Tree is signed by John Darnielle and Kaki King. Satanic Messia is signed by John Darnielle and Peter Peter Hughes (Despite the fact that he isn't on that one, but you can't NOT get PPH's signurature.)

I sold all mine to a welshman for fifty cents. I tried to give them to him but he couldn't do it. My 78's and cylinders I gave away, but the chosen holder of the Vinyl was certain I'd regret it. So I understand, but have left the life some time back.

Piles of records, everywhere. Not collected or mint or anything. Just thousands of the fucking things all over the house.

There is a lot of hoovering involved. Dog hair hides between record sleeves. I'm sure there's no need to Hoover in the afterlife. Probably less soft rock compilations too.

Probably less soft rock compilations too. yes! like "Soft Rock - It Ain't Heavy!". For some reason I keep acquiring soft rock compilations of driving anthems that all seem to feature REO Speedwagon and Marillion.
