They're playing at Brewery Ommegang in Cooperstown NY with TV on the Radio. Anyone seen them these last few years, sans Kim Deal? Is it worth the $45 price tag? Or should I just skip and mourn that I never got to see them in their heyday?

I saw them early last year and really enjoyed it, but it was free and a totally stripped down arrangement. So way different circumstances. Do you like their newest album? That'd be the dealbreaker for me. I'm pretty into it but $45 is pricey.

I saw them at Reading a few years back. They still had Kimmy though. It was one of the best gigs of my life.

I like the new album but would be going mostly to hear the classics. $45 is a bit steep but TV on the Radio is opening so a bit more justifiable. Anyway, the tickets are a birthday present for my lovely wife, and Ommegang is one of our favorite breweries so I think I'll go ahead. Thanks fellas.

let us know how it was! i'm curious as to what the ratio of new/old songs is. the new songs sound notably better live IMO with paz harmonizing on them.

Yes, they still are. The songs are still amazing, and they play them with a lot of energy. It's not spectacular or visually exciting, but they're very, very good at what they do.

I've only seen television footage of them since Kim departed but the T in the Park show last year looked excellent as are some of the new songs. I'll honestly be hoping for "Greens and Blues" and "Blue Eyed Hexe" in the setlist next time I catch them.

Perfect way to describe. None of them said a word all night but every song sounded fresh and unbelievably energetic. As for Kim's absence, I'm sure some hardcore fans would disagree but i barely noticed. Paz is a fantastic compliment to Frank vocally and great stage presence overall. I missed Kim's songs but that's all. Haven't listened much to TV on the Radio but they were a great live band as well. Were hanging in the crowd a bit with fans during the Pixies set, singing along. Great show.
