Angel from Montgomery..... John Prine Song for You..... Gram Parsons See, I didn't have to vote- the Scene's got my picks covered. I suspect we'll be seeing more from Mr. Dylan as you unveil the list. The John Prine vote was mine. That's been one of my faves for a couple decades!

Not gonna lie, I will be bummed if I'm the only person that included "God only knows"

Two more from the list I would have made:
Love Will Tear Us Apart... Joy Division God Only Knows.... The Beach Boys

Joy Division is one of my absolute favorites but I don't know if LWTUA would make a top 5. It's so different from the rest of their songs that I kind of always forget about it.

Have you gotten to any with more than one vote yet, or are these still all singletons from different lists? The last group posted consisted of everyone's 8th place picks. You'll notice that there is 20 songs there, out of 21 8th place picks. So, one person's #8 matched up with at least one other person's pick from somewhere else on their list(s). None of the songs that I have listed so far got more than one vote each. The next group I post will be all the #7 picks, minus any that may have matched up.

The Rolling Stones Criminal.... Eminem Do You Still Hate Me?..... Jawbreaker Papillons, Op.2..... Robert Schumann Don't Wait Up..... Colin Hay Straight to Hell.... The Clash Box of Rain.... The Grateful Dead Debaser..... The Pixies Sublet.... Lifter Puller Can't Stand Me Now.... The Libertines Voodoo Chile.... Jimi Hendrix Train in Vain.... The Clash P.S. You Rock My World.... As an old head, I was happy to see Box of Rain make the list. I had played around with my list a bit just before writing down my votes, and the only GD song I had on it got cut. The Sam Cooke number was one that I saw when tallying votes and thought, "Damn. Why isn't that on my list!"

Whatshername is a great, generally overlooked Green Day song. That and Letterbomb are my favorites from AI

I wanted to get Aretha on my list. My mom always played Aretha on Saturday mornings when we had to get the house clean before we could go out. I still like to clean to "Young Gifted, and Black" especially.

Now that I've mentioned it, I may try to figure out my top 10 dylan and joy division songs I've been gutted I didn't submit a ten for days now. God Only Knows would have been in mine too as would For No One by The Beatles, There She Goes by The La's and 7 other tunes (obviously!) One of the other 7 would be a Bob Dylan song so... In the spirit of this forum I posit a Top 10 Dylan songs thread. I don't mind counting the votes but it was doctoracula who mentioned the idea so I think he should get the stones rolling... (pardon the pun!)

It was always Rolling Stones After-Math at my Mum's house.

Asleep in the Back..... Elbow I'm trying to find as many of these tracks as I can and give them a listen. This appears to be an album title. Is there a track named Asleep In The Back as well? While searching My Sad Captains has just had me download an album on the strength of one song alone.

Gorgeous, gorgeous music Stringer... Help me Dude. I have a copy of Asleep in the Back and a copy of Cast of Thousands right here. I have had them since the dawn of time and never lsitened to them (don't judge me too harshly) because I figured I'd get around to it eventually. I've played both and there is no song on either called Asleep In The Back (but there's some beautiful music) Do I have a weird CD of their (Blue Album?) Did they do a Houses Of The Holy/Waiting For The Sun and the song is on a different record? Since posting earlier I've also downloaded The Seldom Seen Kid. That's a pretty record. But I have to say so far The Take Off And Landing Of Everything is winning on Sad Captains alone.

On with the show...
Most of the "five point" group are the sixth place picks from our lists, minus three that matched up and moved up.
But one of these songs got it's five points from being a seventh(4 pts.) and tenth(1 pt.) choice from two lists.
So, the first song to receive more than a single vote, followed by the rest of this group, is...
Wish You Were Here.... Pink Floyd *2 votes*
Purple Rain.... Prince Wake Up.... Arcade Fire Web In Front.... Archers of Loaf My City Was Gone..... The Pretenders Hounds of Love.... Kate Bush American Girl.... Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers 212 Margarita..... THS Once in a Lifetime.... The Talking Heads Freedom 90.... George Michael Golden.... My Morning Jacket The Ballad of Me and My Friends.... Frank Turner Last Stop: This Town.... The Eels Exile Vilify...... The National Holidays In the Sun..... Sex Pistols Room 512, All the News That's Fit to Print..... The Wonder Stuff The Normal Life..... Weston Exit Music (For a Film)..... Radiohead Big Brown Eyes..... The Old 97's

Thank You.... Led Zeppelin Ashes of American Flags.... Wilco Friction.... Television I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man.... Prince Beginning of the End.... Eddie and the Hot Rods Bikeage.... The Descendants No Time to Cry.... Iris DeMent This Must Be The Place (Naive Melody).... The Talking Heads Darkness at the Edge of Town.... Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band Wrecking Ball.... Gillian Welch Baby I'm an Anarchist.... Against Me A Day In the Life.... The Beatles Not Much Left of Us.... Craig Finn True Love Will Find You In the End.... Daniel Johnston Just Like Heaven.....
