Tuscan waiters. Makes perfect sense to me. Can't say I never heard it that way. There must be more. Do share. There's no shame amongst friends. Just mockery.

Shes got those bones for gay videos Yep, me too, I thought it was: "She's got the bone for gay videos [I'm not sure how a lady can have a "bone" though] She do it back and forth [i.e. she likes it "round the back"] She's slept with so many skaters "
It doesn't really matter whether it makes sense. My earliest misinterpretations included:
"She keeps a mower and sand on, In a pretty cabinet"
and
"Steve walks merrily down the street, With his beanpole way down low"
I used to LOVE Queen! (still do)

It's the one-eyed gnome It's the one-eyed gnome
I knew that couldn't be right but for the life of me, I couldn't hear it differently. (It's the world I know)

Ha! I used to think Craig Finn sang "We went to some place where she cat sits" on Sequestered in Memphis. Imagine! What's that? Oh... That is what he says... And I have a BAD one. Lifter Puller - Half Dead and Dynamite "Lick her ass a little later." - "liquor lasts a little later."

"Constructive Summer" I thought he said, "And this whole town is like this, at night we all hold ashes." Instead of "... been that way our whole lives just"

"Constructive Summer" I thought he said, "And this whole town is like this, at night we all hold ashes." Instead of "... been that way our whole lives just" I heard something very simmilar to that, I think most of us did. I heard "haul ashes" rather than "hold ashes." But I expected he said "asses" rather than "ashes."

I still can't figure out that line when I listen to it, even if I've seen the lyrics. I dunno. Weird.

Had a friend who loved to sing along but often had the lyrics a little wrong.......my favorites, "there's a bathroom on the right" (Creedence) and "don't fear the reefer" (BOC).....those still crack me up whenever I think about them.

me gots a few: a friend of mine thought that salt n pepa's "push it" was: ahh this is bullshit. bullshit good. ah, this is bullshit, b-bullshit REAL GOOD!"
tlc's chasin' waterfalls was "go-go jason waterfall" for a while. thats embarassing.
and finally, last but certainly not least: during jay reatard's epic performance of "blood visions" at pitchfork this summer, i thought he was singing about "sport fishing". so i sung it out loud, imitating him, at the top of my lungs much to the delight of the unified scenesters who were anxiously waiting for craig finn and his merry band of rockers to perform later. if not for you guys, that moment of pseudobrilliance would have been lost, the friends i was with at the time just dismissed it as my usual never-knowing-the-lyrics-for-anything-to-save-her-life self. i'm never going to live that one down. i'm forever and for always SPORTFISHING! and im okay with it.

My big one: "She's got the bones for gay videos." Oh wow, this is embarassing. What is the acutal line? That is what I sing^^^ and I doubt I will stop. I'm with you. I had to look up the lyrics.

"Constructive Summer" I thought he said, "And this whole town is like this, at night we all hold ashes." Instead of "... been that way our whole lives just" Plus I believe it's "This whole town is lifeless."

My sister and I were having a discussion today about one of Craig's lines in How A Resurrection Really Feels. tHS wiki says he's saying "walk on by" during:: "walk on back. walk on back. she said don't turn me on again. i'd probably just go and get myself all gone again. holly was a sexy mess. she looked strung out but experienced. so we all got kind of curious." At the end.
However, before he starts singing that, he says "today, she finally came back." To which, we were curious if him saying "welcome back" makes sense. It's incredibly confusing/frustrating because they sound the same and welcome back fits the context.

I always sing "walk on back" and Missy always sings "Welcome back." They do both fit. I've considered getting "walk on back" tattooed on my wrist, but I'm not sure I like tattoos enough.

top this one:
as a child my parents listened to a lot of steve miller band.
the line in the song is "big old jet airliner."
as a child, i heard "pickle jam and the line-up."
...and i never questioned why it didn't make sense.
