Thank you! Getting out from under the shadow of milo is gonna be one of the key things my next project has to do, since in January I'm probably releasing something produced entirely by his main producer, Riley Lake. I'm walking a fine line, so it's great to hear that I'm dodging mimicry.
On Saturday I supported Luke Concannon, one of my biggest influences. In his first song, he gestured for me to go on stage and sing with him. Then he took the set to the bar, and had an unplugged session instead. I was then told to get my guitar by one of his tour buddies and that I was "gonna need it". After jamming along to a couple of tracks, and singing (at his request!) a verse of the Temptations' 'My Girl', a guy requested a song called 'Wash Away', from Nizlopi's first album. Luke apologised, because he didn't know it, as it was always the other guy who played guitar for that song. I said... "Luke.. I know it." So.. then I got to play guitar for one of my favourite artists singing one of my favourite songs... Yeah Saturday was a good day

KotM. Unsurprisingly easy. Ode to SMJ.
US #43: Licor 43, or Cuarenta Y Tres, is a bright yellow Spanish liqueur. It is made from citrus and fruit juices, flavored with vanilla and other aromatic herbs and spices, in total 43 different ingredients (hence the name).
I play in a band called Worried Well. We're a rock duo from Portland, ME. We put out a record earlier this year called "Luck" which was mixed partly engineered by Dean Baltulonis at the Wild Arctic Studios. I didn't realize until we started working with him that he produced/engineered Almost Killed Me, Separation Sunday, and Heaven is Whenever. That was a huge fucking thrill for us.
Anyways- Shameless promotion. Here's the record. We'll be putting out a new single later in December!
I am not sure if this counts as self promotion since I am not in the band, but there is a group called Annabelle's Curse that is starting to turn some heads around my area. They are Folk/Americana-ish, but with a more indie vibe and I would hope some other THS fans might dig them. Their website is www.annabellescurse.com and they are on facebook/youtube/spotify/itunes and whatnot.
Some really interesting stuff is on this thread, I am enjoying the variety.

I'm doing a thing on Reddit called song-a-week. Fairly self explanatory. Each week there's a theme, and the first theme was, predictably, "firsts". I wrote this song. Kinda pleased with it for a few day's work.
