my band Hurry is playing a Free at Noon show for WXPN in Philadelphia this week! really really excited for this. I've seen THS do one of these so it'll be cool to be on that same stage for the same sort of event. info here: xpn.org/events/free-at-noon/item/4669-hurry

so years ago i was posting links to work by a rapper named 'milo' on the 'what are you listening to' thread. then earlier this year we were roommates for two months in Milwaukee but it didn't work out because i was so caught up in who he was and where i was and how awesome it was to actually make any music while i was there. so i moved back to austin and now this is the first song i've released in over a year. i still lurk around these parts even tho i don't post ever. i know a few of you might like to hear this. soundcloud.com/user-887444751/pining

You turned me on to milo and now he and Open Mike Eagle and Busdriver are 3 of my favourite artists ever. I've seen them all live and they've been a big influence on my own style. Sorry it didn't work out. This new song is really good, keep making stuff. "Too much of life is food" made me laugh

Calling all Unified Scenesters in Iceland! Anyone? Eh, worth a shot. There are enough new faces here I thought maybe...
Anyway, fellow board member Stringer and I toured the UK & Ireland together in 2015 (played in Manchester with alexondrums' band Mountain Song along the way). It was an amazing time. We dubbed the tour 'Radio Silence' and made it a sort of roving indefinite collaboration thing. We're getting together in Reykjavik, Iceland for two shows in March:
Wed 1 March: Café Rosenberg (supporting Svavar Knutur) Thurs 2 March: Reykjavik Roasters (supporting Sveinn Gudmundsson)
We'd love to get some likes/followers on our FB page (www.facebook.com/radiosilencetour), Wordpress (radiosilencetour.wordpress.com), Instagram, etc. We don't expect to meet any of you at the Reykjavik shows but would love to connect with any or all of you in the future. Stringer plans to come to the US for a week of east coast shows in 2018 and after that it's anyone's guess. Hoping to hit somewhere new every two or three years.
Cheers!

So I'm in the whole singer-songwriter world now! I have a new single coming out pretty soon, quite modern rockish. In the meantime, I'll reel people in with a HS cover www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7J9XrYi1nUThere's a couple of things on Spotify too! Did an acoustic album recently, heavy focus on lyrics etc etc

The girls high school where I teach is staging "Sister Act" for the spring musical. They didn't get enough boys to try out, so they cast me as Msgr. O'Hara. Costumes wanted me to wear a black T-shirt under my cassock. "No problem," I said, "I have the very thing." The full assembly: Msgr. O'HaraWe opened last weekend, do three more shows this weekend. Why, sure you can buy tickets! Sister Act at Merion Mercy Academy
