I wonder if people were sadder before electric lights were invented? No. When the sun went down, you just went to bed. When it came up, you got up. And you liked it.

I wonder if people were sadder before electric lights were invented? its the vitamin D from sunlight (and simulated sunlight, which is different than a regular fluorescent lightbulb). nice try, though.

I love winter. It's all white and pretty, but I do miss the beach.

What I hate most is that heating the house is so damn expensive. So we turn the heat down to about 62. And when I get home from work, I'm just cold. So all I want to do is go to bed. Which means that NOTHING gets done and no cleaning happens and my kitchen floor is gross and it's too damn cold for me to even entertain the thought of cleaning it, especially because the back end of my kitchen is an addition and is extra cold.
I fucking hate the cold. I fucking hate being cold. I shiver uncontrolably when I'm cold. I have trouble regulating my body's temperature. It sucks.
It's not the light, it's the temperature. (Medically, I am better off with less light and more clouds.)
This begins at the end of September. It ends in May. I get four good months if I'm lucky.

Seconding absolutely everything that W_D said re: temperature. Our heating bill for last month was $308.99, and I keep the thermostat between 58 and 62. We seem to have a draft problem.
Here's our upcoming forecast! Monday: Winter Weather Advisory, 3-5 inches of snow, wind chills -10 to -20, high 23F/low 8F (that's -5C/-13C for the rest of youse) Tuesday: high 10/low -4 Wednesday: 2-4 inches of snow, high 10/low 3 Thursday: high 5/low -10 (TEN DEGREES BELOW ZERO; yes, people in Winnipeg and Regina can tell me to go fuck myself for whining) Friday: high 8/low 3
I hate all temperatures below 72, but I hate clouds even more. I can deal with the cold and snow all right as long as I've got sun, which is why I will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever live in the Pacific Northwest.

Don't worry Bible, I'm sure a good trepanning will solve all of my problems. The night's fair orb, her fullness must be it To draw such quack'ry from so temp'rate Juliet. The true lunatic's foil instead shall beseech To cure hiver's horror, with one of these fat fuckers HATE YOU

I might, personally, like the sunlight. However, so does the recurrent shingles in my eye. Therefore, overcast is GOOD for me.
One of the many, many things that frightens me about dying is that I'll be cold at some point. Very cold. I'm sure of it.
