aww bollocks - missed you again Mr Wealdstone, I didn't see your post until today, and had a look for any US t-shirts but didn't spot any.
Another great gig, but a horrible featureless box room of a venue which acoustically wasn't great. Crowd were fairly enthusiastic by Bristol standards although not as wild as I would have hoped. Tad looked pretty miserable but played sublimely, prompting what seeming a great than usual amount of high fives between him and Craig. Hopefully Wealdstone will have a better recollection of the setlist but the US would have loved the inclusion of Sweet Payne - they finished on "Killer Parties". Highlights for me were "Lord I'm discourgaged" and "Hoodrat". "Navy Sheets" always takes me by surprise as it is amazing live, but one of my least favourites on the album. I wasn't surprised to see "Cutters" has become the "mass exodus to the toilet" song. Off the top of my head we also got Stay Posi, Sequestered, Sapphire, Southtown, Stations, You can make him like you, Modesto, Chips Ahoy, Stevie Nix, Resurrection, Multitude and Slapped.
Getting back to London this morning was a ballache due to flash floods causing my train to be delayed by two and a half hours.

We'll try again at the Roundhouse. I got sent away from the station at midday, ended up paying £36 for a bus to Heathrow. As you say another great gig, this tour really has gone up a level. I got a photo of the set list that Dustin gave to a kid at the front www.photobox.co.uk/my/album?album_id=86183279Guitar buffs might like to note the double neck stayed out for Hornets

my first hold steady gig and i thought they were excellent. definitely one of the best gigs i've seen at the anson rooms this year. i think the anson rooms are ok acoustically, better than the academy anyway!
has anyone got a set list though as the link above doesn't seem to work?

My first Hold Steady gig too - crap venue but an absolutely amazing show! Haven't been so excited about a band live since my first Springsteen show - and that's a long time ago! Craig is the most incredible frontman, so animated!! Managed to come away with Tad's guitar plectrum and Galen's autograph (wandered past the stage door!). (Behaving like a teenage fan, despite being same age as the lead singer!)

cheers for that what a quality set they played.
i think lord i'm discouraged was my favourite.
the lead singer is really entertaining he's a bit of a geek but it's funny watching him do his little dances and stuff.
