I am starting a separate thread for this based on interest in the cooking thread.
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
We are going to bake and/or cook the same thing every month. Since we have a fairly small group of people who may not feel too comfortable in either the savory or sweet parts of the cookbook, we will pick both a "baking" recipe and a "cooking" recipe. You can do both (yay!), you can do just one. This is based on The Daring Kitchen , a group of bloggers that all either bake or cook the same (generally challenging) recipe each month. We'll be picking our own less challenging recipes.
I AM SO FUCKING BUSY!
Recipes are posted at the start of the month, pictures and results are due the first of the next month. That's 30 days. You can probably squeeze in a meal.
IS THIS HARD?
Probably not. It depends on who picks what. Don't be scared. You can always sit a month out.
I'LL DO IT!
PM me that you're interested by 2/25. I'll randomly make a host order and we'll announce the first recipes on March 1st. Anyone that doesn't sign up is welcome to join in anytime, or just cook and bake along with us.

I like this idea as I'm working in a kitchen from the end of March.

I'm in! I can't guarantee I'll take part in March due to work issues, so don't put me to host then! But I'm up for this!

What exactly is required by the host?

What exactly is required by the host? You pick the recipes we make - one under cooking and one under baking. That's all!

Wait, is there some specific cookbook we're working out of? I just see mention of a "book" in the original post...

Wait, is there some specific cookbook we're working out of? I just see mention of a "book" in the original post... No book. We're keeping it pretty casual since we're all of different skill sets, interest levels, etc.

Alright guys, I've made a list. It's fairly random. Rhinovirus was the only one to volunteer to go first. Props for the confidence. Since we have a lot of sign ups, I wanted to throw out the idea to co-host with someone. At this rate, we won't get to the end of the list until 2011. So if you're feeling less than confident, buddy up. If I forget anyone, let me know and I'll add you to the end of the list.
MARCH - rhinovirus APRIL - bigrob MAY - essbee/godblessths JUNE - hard corey JULY - theblondette AUGUST - victorias SEPTEMBER - hoodrat OCTOBER - brooklynbaker NOVEMBER - laurenjean DECEMBER - kim JANUARY - fairysari FEBRUARY - kojiroshinkara MARCH - meoskop

Oh cool, I'll have plenty of time to think of a recipe Should we try to stick to recipes that are available free online, or is it ok to post one out of a cookbook?
