Here's the thing with No Age (at least for me). I loved Weirdo Rippers a lot, but Nouns is far too clean and focused to really grove with the band No Age is.

But I am very curious to why you selected Red album. I find that it lyrics are wafer think and pointless, the songs boring, and the only songs worth a listen are The Greatest Man Who Ever Lived and Pork & Beans. I was expecting an album as good as Pinkerton and Blue, but I think it is even worse than Make Believe.

You're right, everyone is entitled to their opinion. That's why nobody here's called you out on being a Killers fan.

They just write tunes which are fun to sing-a-long to. I'm just wondering why Turnstiles like Red Album, because he is the only person with it in his End of Year List and I thought it was the most dissapointing album of the year. (I'm a hugh Blue & Pinkerton fan)

How does anyone think Weezer will ever release anything that is on par with The Blue Album or Pinkerton? It'll never happen. They're gonna keep writing rubbish like "Beverly Hills" and so on.

I was just praying for anything, just an improvement on the horrible Make Believe would have done me, I was secretly wishing that Rivers would turn into his old control-freak self. Why did he let other band members write songs? That was daft, Weezer were best when Rivers was the band.

Everything post pinkerton has just lacked that spirit. I liken it to Greg Graffin and Brett G from Bad Religion. The records without Brett just werent as good.

That said, one thing Weezer never stopped doing was making kick-ass videos.

so few mentions of The Baseball Project! if you don't already know this one you gotta check it out... i'd think it'd be right up a lot of your alleys... (my that sounds awkward in the plural)
i made a couple year-end lists, only ranked 10 of the best albums but it was hard enough doing that, i don't want to choose any more! they're all honorable mentions beyond these...
1. Vampire Weekend - S/T 2. Death Cab For Cutie - Narrow Stairs 3. The Hold Steady - Stay Positive 4. She & Him - Volume One 5. The Baseball Project - Vol. 1: Frozen Ropes and Dying Quails 6. The Kooks - Konk 7. The Airborne Toxic Event - S/T 8. Alejandro Escovedo - Real Animal 9. Delta Spirit - Ode To Sunshine 10. The Felice Brothers - S/T
