mad props to stephanie for flying to Seattle to see Harvey Danger...i love them and think they are one of the most underrated bands ever BLESS YOUR HEART. Seriously. I hope you've seen them when they've played out over the past few years... Sean does solo shows occasionally, too, and will have a new record out sometime in 2009. Fingers crossed. Click!Forgot a couple: + flew to Austin, then drove to New Orleans to see The Mountain Goats/Prayers and Tears of Arthur Digby Sellers, which ended in a 5AM Motown 45 dance party and, inexplicably, mass consumption of someone's (double chocolate!) birthday cake at Circle Bar+ flew to New York to see Apes & Androids (2x) Thanks, Visa!

I toured with Thunder in the early 90's. 3 weeks on the road, ended up on the merch stall doing a motorben.
I bent a business trip to Madrid around an Aerosmith gig once too. Priority of the summer and all that.

Half Man Half Biscuit - all over the UK, fortunately for my credit card they never play outside of the UK and only do about 10 gigs a year which I try to attend all of
The Wedding Present - all over the UK, I was very close to going on their recent West Coast of USA tour with a few friends from their forum who hired a minibus and did 8 dates in 10 days but after just moving house it wasn't feasible financially.
Back in late 80's I followed Pop Will Eat Itself all over UK, and did a dates in Germany, France and Holland.
I've usually tailored visits to see friend around the world and holidays around gigs and I dated a girl from New Jersey back in 1999-2000 so used to arrange my visits to coincide with gigs I wanted to see in NYC and surrounding areas
Would have seen THS in 4 different UK Cities, Germany and Amsterdam had they not pulled their October tour.

So, so jealous -- I only got to see one show before the breakup (in 1995, no less), then all 5 reunion gigs in 2005. Yes!

I saw them once around the time Flagpole Sitta was a big hit, they were good then, but i would love to be able to hear the new stuff live. Little by Little is just a great record

And I'm with Stephanie on an Afghan Whigs reunion. I don't ever see it happening, but that would be fantastic. Damn it's heart warming to see so much love for The Whigs! And I'll throw another vote for the nerver happening Husker Du reunion - money would be no object for that...

Yes! wow - very few Americans I know have ever heard of them, let alone made such a huge effort to see them. I was obsessed from "The Poppiecock EP" through to "The Looks or the Lifestlye". My mum was brought up in Stourbridge so I remember going up there to visit my Gran for a few days in 1987 and wandering past the house they used as their mailing address for the early singles numerous times hoping to bump into them - I guess these days that would be regarded as stalking. I must have seen them live about 40-50 times during that period and got to know them reasonably well through following them around and drinking with them after gigs - excellent company and very funny blokes, but my interest waned as I was pretty disappointed with both "Cure for Sanity" and "The Looks.." and I only went to a handful of their gigs after that, and in hindsight I wished I had gone to the reunion gigs, and was gutted when I heard they had shelved their plans to release another album in 2006. I've still got loads of their stuff on vinyl and several live tapes and t-shirts in my mum's loft - must dig them out next time I am up there now that I have a bigger house of my own to store stuff in. I've not been blown away by any of the spin off bands and projects except Clint's score for "Requiem for a dream" was incredible - was shocked to find out it was him who had been responsible for it

Agree: Sean Nelson is a helluva songwriter. " Little Round Mirrors" is a classic.

I forgot Simple Kid. I haven't seen him yet, and I love him with some intensity. But that made me go see where the 3rd album is, and it seems it's nowhere. He's back on hiatus. Story of my rock life.

your icon is um ... mesmerizing. Isn't it just! I wanted to convert the last minute or so of the video where it becomes truly psychedelic, but sadly .gif compression isn't up to the task!
